the server on Synology dsm 6 (latest ) just shows 4 items and ca n’t find the server ?\
I could not find a fix? so I unistalled the server, downloaded the latest and installed it ( PlexMediaServer-1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8-x86_64.spk ) here is what I see on the screen on my computer
I have checked all the permissions I can think of, and ok’d read / write on anything that said plex including unsed sc-downloads user account or groups. and I can’t downlaod a server log either since it does not show up
ok it was a permissions thing, not sure wich one, as PLEX is now part of the administrator group and I gave access to read write under all the toher user setting. DON’T CARE about security this box is internal . seems all the changes did NOT take place until I rebooted the box , so so much for dsm 6.0 being so great IMO

Synology is more secure than QNAP and has a few more issues, yessir. You will find a lot of good information in the article below.

thank you both . Trumpy had already told me a few months back , thing is I do not remember upgrading the server, and all of a sudden it was doing all these weird things. but like I said I gave plex all the permissions under several settings and made it part of the admin group too.
(off topic ) I’m hoping the Plex player gets more improvements for several versions out there that seem to play ok in VLC in the computer but do not in the plex on my large TV’s . but that is off topic so I will quetly wait to see if things improve so I don’t have to run BROSOFT converter . even with my nvidia 2080 still takes 30 minutes
