So they used to work. Now they don’t . I totally reinstalled. And they are simply not working. Why has this feature been removed and when will it come back? I’m considering switching to Kodi if we can no longer use Trailers in Plex.
User supplied trailers should work. Can you provide the exact PMS version and the exact filenames you are using?
they were working fine, then an update or two later now what was being recognized before is no longer recognized. All my trailers disappeared from every movie page, and I even did a full uninstall deleted the Reg Key and deleted AppData Plex folder and did a fresh install…trailers are no longer recognized with the current up to date version downloaded last night Sept 23rd 2019.
All my filenames are correct THEY WERE WORKING LOL.
example: Folder: 16 Blocks (2006) Movie: 16 Blocks (2006).mp4 Trailer: 16 Blocks (2006)-trailer.mp4
Every one of them were working and the workaround I found was “Local Media Assets” needed to be at the top of the Agent field for movies. When Plex Movie was at the top, trailers weren’t being read. But now, even setting Local Media Assets as the top agent doesn’t allow trailers to be recognized.
Can you move that trailer out of the folder, visit the preplay page for that movie, go back to home page. Add the file back, visit the prepage again. Send me the entire PMS zip log.

Did you do something to the movie file too? Your log report having issues finding the file.
I just recently added everything I don’t think it’s done updating.
I noticed “get trailers and extras automatically” was checked by default for all my movie libraries even tho right next to it it says “Plex Pass Required”
Is that why it’s overriding finding my local content? because it’s being directed to scrape from the server and then coming back as Null because I’m not a Plex Pass user?
Wait for it to finish, then perform the steps I mention above and only those steps. Get me new logs.
I just unchecked “get trailers automatically (plex pass only)” and removed 12 guns from the library…rescanned…deleted trash…re-added 12 guns and still no trailer. I’ll update logs later tonite.
That is not what I asked you to do. Please follow the step exactly as I said.
I’ve already been through this with OtterBox or whatever his name was, and he couldn’t figure it out either. I’m just making Trailer libraries.
