Why doesn't Plex know where I left off in a series?

Hello,

For many shows when I start binge watching a show, Plex does a great job of knowing what episode I watched last and having me ready to watch the next episode when I watch next. I figure there is a switch I forgot to check.

I’m currently rewatching the Mentalist and it seems to arbitrarily pick what episode or season I watched last. I have every episode organized using the same schema I use for all shows including the ones that doe work. Plex immediately organized every episode correctly when it scanned for the files.

I’m using the latest plex server as a source and a Roku with the latest plex loaded on it as the viewer.

Plex will only keep track of what you’ve watched / haven’t yet watched. When you rewatch an item you previously watched, the next episode won’t be added to the Continue Watching hub.

As for what you just (re) watched… there should also be a Recently Watched hub on the Recommendations tab of the library.

If you are about to rewatch a series, I recommend you to mark it as a whole as “unwatched”, before you start.
