Can you help please.
Today Ive tried to access my music on my server. I have no access to my PMS, the app on IOS has changed, and all my downloaded content on IOS (from my server) -gone!
I paid a fee via the app store to allow downloads to my own ios app, from my server. This has gone. No notification of change, nothing!
Ive updated to the new PMS and its running, as is the connection to IOS (had to use Plexamp).
I cant even restore it. Is it true I can ONLY listen to my music via Plexamp now? How do I restore my access to downloads, that I have paid-for . Come on -you cant expect me to accept a removal of service?
Yes, you can now only use Plexamp to listen to music from your server. Unfortunately it also appears that unless you have a Plex Pass, you cannot download music with Plexamp.
That’s always been the case. Unlocking the mobile app didn’t allow downloads. I think when he’s referring to downloads he means the 8.45 all in one app. Not standing up for Plex, just calling balls and strikes.
That’s kind of my point though…people with the prior “all-in-one” Plex app could download music to their phone without paying for a Plex Pass. But now it seems that for users that mainly use Plex to listen to downloaded music from their server, it will require a Plex Pass (since they can only use Plexamp).
That’s a pretty significant change - not sure it was called out/understood properly?
While that’s generally correct, up until 2022 no Plex Pass was needed for downloading if the server owner had a Plex Pass and old accounts are grandfathered in to still allow downloads without Plex Pass.
