So, for quite some time now every new movie that I add to my Plex library has been identified as “Madagascar 3”. Every. Single. Movie. I have to go in and manually split them apart and then manually search to fix the incorrect match. It’s getting extremely annoying, especially if I add several movies at a time. I asked for help from the Plex twitter account and was given the suggestion to clear out the agent HTTP caches, which I did. It didn’t help. I’ve got the logs but there are a ton of files in there and I don’t see a way to attach them. Why would this be happening? How do I fix it?
So, to clear the caches I shut down the server, trashed all of the files and folders in the cache folder, then started the server back up. There were so many folders in there and I didn’t know which one I needed to get rid of to try to fix the problem. Anyway, deleting ALL of them didn’t help anyway.
Most likely due to adding incomplete files. Never download/rip or such directly to Plex. Keep all files away from Plex until they are finished and then move them to Plex for it to discover them.
Well, that doesn’t sound like fun. I’ve never done that before and I didn’t used to have this problem. I always rip right to my movies folder. I guess I’ll just set my server to update the library only once a day or something and see if that helps.
