Same issue here, happening quite often. Have to force close Plex app on Android 9, and relaunch it to refresh.
Here are the logs:

I was having the same problem for weeks. Tonight I reset the home screen to defaults and it seems to have fixed the issue for me. Annoying that I canāt remove the recommended podcasts now but at least it shows my home screen as online.
Iām having this issue as well, Plex android app showing as offline, used to work fine. Is this par for the course? Problems with no reply from Plex?
As long as people keep posting Android mobile issues in an iOS thread and also never supplying logs then yes, very likely.
I have the same issue on oneplus 6 plex app until I restart or clear cache.
same issue. steps iāve tried.
- clear cache and data, delete device from authorized devices and start over
- reset home default thing
both eventually result in the same issue of being offline, but choosing a section its fine.
Only real fix is to downgrade Plex thru apkmirror.
It got much worse after resetting the homescreen to defaults.
Now have to do a reset on every start-up basically.

Baffles me that this is STILL an issue. This thread dates back to May of 2018! There have been PLENTY of updates, and this is still, somehow, an issue. I donāt even bother going to the Home tab anymore.
Wow, I should be careful what I wish for. I previously posted that I was happy to find a āfixā for the offline android mobile app problem. Namely, signing out then back in again would resolve it. However, rather than occurring sporadically, maybe once or twice per week, it is happening more than once per day. Every time I close the app, if I am away from the phone for more than an hour or two, when I return, it will be offline again. Even last night, in the middle of casting something to my TV, Plex was showing offline, even though the video was still casting and could be paused/resumed. I hope someone is able to ix this issue. Iāve included logs. The initial logs are when the app is showing offline. At approx 11:34:31 is when I signed out/signed in again to get āonlineā with the app. Serverlog.txt (23.4 KB)
Mike,
I am forced to call myself an absolute moron thanks to you. I posted just below you, and happened to let what you wrote really sink in. I realized that I never checked the other tabs when it was showing āofflineā. Iāve always just used mobile Plex on the home screen 97% of the time. So, I went to a couple of different tabs, a lo and behold, lol, they were not āofflineā. Historically, Iāve always been a very good troubleshooter. I guess those days are over,
But, thanks for the work around, lol!
This used to be a sometimes issue for me but recently it is happening every single day. Home screen says my server is offline when it is not. I can access the content by going to the other tabs.
Resetting the home screen to default fixes it temporarily and then it will start showing offline again after a few hours. Just turned on logging in the app so I can share logs when it happens again. Do we have Plexās attention on this?
For Android users, this appears to be addressed in this thread.
This one worked for me. Change to required under Network server settings.
Happens from time to time with me as well on several devices. The server is never actually offline. There are two ways to fix this. One is to set secure connections to disabled. After this is done, you can restart the app and it will appear online again. (Note that this is only a problem with the home screen).
The other way to (temporary) fix it is to reset the home screen.
This is happening intermittently on my shield tv and 2x pixel 2 phones. Turning off automatic login fixes my issue but now have to login every time. Not ideal
If I turn off auto sign in, the issue goes awayā¦
Thatās the only way I can stop the dreaded āOfflineā issue.
This is also happening to me. Latest version on android. Works if I log out and back in.
The app on android keeps saying my server is offline when its not now too. I have to force close the app and relaunch it to get it to work.
This worked for me
