Why is On Deck and Continue Watching disabled on my users?

I am running a Plex pass for my household and my users generally use either their Kindle tablets or simply watch on their PC via the web interface launched from plex.tv or the Windows 10 App. The problem I am confronted with is that none of my users have their On Deck or Continue Watching feature anymore. This little problem only started after I ran the update that introduced the DVR feature which I have not activated or played with.

I have logged in as each of my users just to see if it was some sort of caching issue (which would not explain the Kindle or Win 10 App issue). No matter how they access Plex it does not show these features.

I had a friend share his server with those users and they have the same issue when accessing shows and movies there as well. Both Plex Pass servers.

This is perplexing and I have tried everything I can think of including researching online and nothing has worked.

Anyone with an idea?

Are these managed users, and if so are you restricting their access by using labels?

There’s a current known issue that is being looked at that causes this issue of missing On-Deck for managed users are are restricted using labels

I could never get the labels to work in the first place so there are no labels enabled. Unless the ratings considered labels.

They can’t be managed users, because his friend was able to share libraries from another server to them.

This is true. Everyone created their own account, but they are under my own. Not managed users.

It’s also regular accounts in a home as well, one user found a work around, which might not be ideal -: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1387305
