Why is Plex "sharing my activities" with Facebook?

@SE56 you are WRONG. Even WITHOUT a FB account data is sent from the plex android app to FB. This type of app spying and monitoring is horrible.

And you are also wrong about not signing in with third parties: it actually doesn’t matter how I sign in. In any case I have the legal right to opt-in to what happens with my data.

Or would accept that for example Wal-Mart tells to use the back entrance if you don’t what your face to be biometrically scanned on the front entrance?

Who said I used android, god help me.

I see you don’t understand what Information they gather on you. Who said I protested about what you do.
Do what you like, I really don’t care. Using Facebook sign in or Google, you will be tracked, your choice. Good luck complaining, your correct, it is your choice to be tracked.

This is also true for the iOS app. I linked the relevant iOS changelog section in my earlier post here: Why is Plex "sharing my activities" with Facebook? So I am unable to understand which point exactly you are trying to make except some false assumptions so far.

Use 2 iPads with Plex and none are adding activities to Facebook or Google.

Oh its sharing and sending reporting events to FB – its done behind the scenes in the background – you just can’t see it ! See the announcement below …

It appears that profile tracking information is being sent to Facebook during a normal page load of app.plex.tv as well.

During a cursory review of the page loads at GTMetrix.com, two distinct calls to FB occur, of which one actually sets cookie data. As an aside, the PageSpeed score of 74% could use some review as well.

I am attaching the generated report for your use (and also to send to the server folks for general optimizations…) to see what your thoughts are on the FB profile data being sent and the cookie usage.
