Why it should be this complicated to access your own server?

Server Version#: 4.108.0
Player Version#: Windows, Android and so on…
So I have a lifetime Plex Pass and I want to access my OWN Plex server from outside my LAN… and it is impossible. Why it should be so complicated ? Please enlighten me.
Same goes for whenever I don’t have Internet access for whatever reason… No Plex access… Why ? So I paid this plex pass to have access to my own LAN. I could have done that with Kodi for free.

Both remote access, and access without internet are easily done and are already in the docs. Read them.

Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot remote access issues.

Plex depends on authenticating via their backend. You can configure your setup to minimize this.

You don’t need a Plex Pass membership to access your own server remotely.

My apologies… I wrote this while I was so frustrated that Live TV won’t show up on one of my TVs (Hisense) which happens to be outside. I was trying to watch Tennis Channel 2 while BBQing.

Turns out that even though Hisense is listed as supported, it is not. At least not mine.

does “outside” mean it’s actually outside your home network (=streaming over the internet) or does the tv simply happen to be outside but still part of your home network?

You might want to be a bit more specific…
What’s not supported? The Plex app in general (it should be), watching live-tv streams or actual OTA live tv?
What Hisense model are we talking about and what operating system/version?
Which version of the Plex app do you have installed on that tv?

Hisense 32H5F1

Even though it displays “PLEX for VIDAA” (vs PLEX for Smart TV) it appears that on Hisense TVs, Plex client supports online services only on series 4 and up. Mine is a 3 series.

Again, my apologies for the aggravation…
