Windows 10 Plex Media Playing Refusing to Sync

Hoping someone can help. I have plex running on a windows 10 desktop (server)(, android tablet and phone and have recently installed the plex media player on a windows 10 laptop. the laptop can access the server remotely and is recognised by an individual number in ‘devices’. However when I sign in it seems to recognise itself as if it were the server on the home screen and as such refuses to sync to itself. Plus you cannot upload to the cloud as the file is not on the laptop! sync options are shown for the 2 other devices but the laptop is not listed? I have tried removing and reinstalling the app on the laptop (including it’s registry entry) but no success. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Must admit I find it odd that as a paid subscriber, you cannot get developer support! Would even pay for support if it could be provided; so hoping that someone with a better understanding can help…please!

Plex Media Player desktop version does not support sync, you have to use Plex Media Player (UWP) from windows store to use the sync function

…aaand the UWP app havent been updated for more than a year, lots of things broken, sync is hit and miss and force closes everywhere. Pretty sure UWP for WIN has been abandoned by Plex even though no one of the Plex staff has the balls to say so.

Agree. I’ve never been able to sync on W10; perusing the Plex web page, there is a general statement that Mobile Sync is supported for Windows with a Plex Pass; but if you dig down it says that only Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 is supported.

C’mon guys, W10 is here to stay, and Phone will be back eventually!!
