Windows 10. Trying to install PMS and it did not work. told me to post my logs

Server Version#: 1.28.2.6151-914ddd2b3
Player Version#:

PMS has worked on my desktop like a year ago. Just stopped one day. Tried to uninstall it and I was faced with " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.". I tried to post about it before but got nowhere, now I’m trying again. If its relevant I’ve gotten emby to work but I much prefer to use plex. Please help.

I recommend you to perform the thorough uninstallation and then a fresh installation. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/

I’ve done that several times, just to be sure

Did you disable or unistall the Windows Media Player?
Is there a Torrent client software installed?

Windows media player i have not touched. qbittorrent is installed

Make sure it is actually not running (check the process monitor).
Then start Plex server again.

No difference

Any other software which eats up a lot of network port numbers?

Where is the error message actually appearing?

I think it’s unlikely though I’m no expert. This is the error message: " A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.

Please visit the forums and provide your logs, as described here."

sorry, i misread. it appears at http://localhost:32400/web/index.html#!/setup/f59babb37db4ddaea1f60de9811ee555f31a6b00

Have you tried to use 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost?

Peruse this article as well https://support.plex.tv/articles/206910047-windows-repeated-crashes-of-plex-media-server/

yes, 127.0.0.1 simply does not work. no connection

Is this Windows 11?
Have you tried Chrome or Firefox as browser? i.e. no Edge

Windows 10 pro. I’ve only tried chrome

Any web browser add-ins activated?

dark reader and adblock plus

Not sure what the first one is but try disabling them both and retry.

no difference

Well, apart from https://support.plex.tv/articles/206910047-windows-repeated-crashes-of-plex-media-server/

I have only one other idea:
Uninstall all versions of the “Microsoft Visual C++ 20xx Redistributable…”
Then download and install fresh version of these from here Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Docs and install them. (both the x86 and x64 versions)
You will have to shut down ad quit all tools and software you might have running while doing this.
Add a computer reboot afterwards.
