I am looking at purchasing a WinTV-quadHD USB for my windows 10 plex server. I have to use a usb tuner because the pci-e slot on my motherboard doesn’t have room for an internal tuner card.

I was told by hauppauge support that plex doesn’t support this tuner yet and wanted to find out of anyone is using the usb tuner. If you are could you please let me know how well it is working.

I’ve been using this tuner for over a month now. I have a Linux server using the Docker container. It’s been working well. It’s common for me to record 2-3 shows at the same time. 4 happens and it works. The only trouble I’ve had is sometimes when restarting the Plex server the tuners (it’s reported as 2 dual tuners) show as missing in settings. However, DVR and LiveTV continue to work. Restarting Plex again usually brings it back. I think the only problem with that situation would be if you wanted to re-scan because the buttons aren’t there.
