WinTV soloHD - tune failed - no cable TV channels found

Dear folks,

i tried already googling my question, but could not find an answer. :’(
I am running a simple setup: **Laptop ** - fresh installation of Windows 10 - fresh installation of **PLEX ** - and the WinTV 8.5 Package with a WinTV soloHD Stick. Nothing else on the Machine.

WinTV-IR and WinTV-Tray-App are closed and disabled in Autostart and the “WinTV Server”-Service i also disabled and stopped in “services.msc” - because at first i thought it might

PLEX DVR-Setup can find the Stick, and i start a channel scan with the correct setting chosen for my hometown. (Cable --> Austria --> DVB-C Austria (Vlbg-Lampert).

In the Plex Tuner Service Log i can see lines where it can find the tuner and everything, but then i can see things like:

and in the end i get a:
channel_scanner_t::scan_channels. Scanned 16 transponder out of 16. Channels found 0

And in the end, PLEX tells me, that there were no channels Found. :’(

I have to admit, that the Settings for the provider are not 100% correct in PLEX, because there is no QAM64 in the providers cable network. And it starts with 282 MHz and goes up to 722 MHz - in global there are 48 “Transponders” or 48 Frequencies. All 9600 Symbolrate and QAM256. But at least in the 10 correct QAM256-Transponders, there should be at least some channels found.

It is really sad, that there is no possibility to do a manual scan.

Maybe somebody have a solution for my problem?
Next thing i wanted to try is to send the WinTV dongle back and get myself a 4-Tuner HomeRun HD to try. I hever had any luck with WinTV products whatsoever. :neutral:

i just received my SoloHD and I have the same problem.
Im living in Germany and also got the “tune failed” error.
Do you have any solution for the problem?

Windows: “WinTV 8” (for WinTV tuners) or “AVerMedia TVBox” (for AVerMedia tuners) software might conflict with Plex Media Server’s use of the tuner. If you have issues tuning channels, please remove this software, install only the driver for your tuner, then attempt to scan channels again.

Worth a try.

I also have the same issue. I’m guessing that Plex is not using the DVB-C tuner (since its triple [dvbt,dvbt2,dvbc]) when scanning for channels.

I know the list is ok because I use it in npvr and tvheadend without any issue.

If the tuner is on plex compatible device list then there should be some sort of guide or howto to confirm its really compatible and the enviroment it was tested with.

I havent found a thread that said that Wintv-soloHD works with Plex when searching for DVB-C channels
