Wrong internal IP address reported by PLEX - QNAP. Plex not reachable.

**Back again with more info This is my setup,

Internet into a Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000 for the router, then JetStream TL-SG3216 that feeds 2 NAS units using (2X rj45’s QNAP TS-251+ ) other QNAP using (4X rj45 ) I have been mixing up configurations to get the Remote access and keep failing…remote access will flash green for a sec. and then drops to red…

One thing, I don’t know which device could cause signal to disconnect from remote access…??? I am connected to my Plex account… Any help would be great…Been working this issue for 2 days now…**

Plex seems to keep pointing to a “173.239.xxx.xx” public IP address which isn’t my public IP as I see in myQNAPCloud. I was told by QNAP, It would be best to consult with Plex support as they can’t figure out why my public IP is wrong in Plex. I am not running any VPN services as well. I hope someone can walk me through this issue to resolve this please, this will make 3 day for me trying to get it correct, Thanks, John

Are you using a VPN on the QNAP ? If you are, PMS will gravitate to that adapter/ IP address.

Are you using all of the Ethernet connections on your QNAP? If so do you have LACP set up on your Router?

Thanks this issue is solved, Unknown to me VPN was on in the QNAP, I did not know that would be a issue while Plex runs in the background, Thanks to Ya all. ChuckPA I wish you posted the other day, Saw this when I came to close it out…

I replied the same day you opened the thread. I do try to be prompt to respond but I am supporting the Linux, Synology and QNAP forums
