Why does the PLEX app for Xbox 360 not support surround sound? Consider the following:
- I have a .wmv file with a WMA Pro 5.1 audio stream (validated through mediainfo).
- The media file displays as 720p WMA Pro 5.1 in the Plex App on the XBox 360.
- English (WMA pro 5.1) is displayed as the audio format when playing the media file in PLEX.
- PLEX continues to play the media file in 2.1 audio only.
- I can take the same exact file, put it on a USB stick and plug it directly into the Xbox and the media file plays in full surround sound as expected!
I understand the media file has to be fairly specific when it comes to surround sound on an Xbox 360… but the above scenario proves it should be supportable through PLEX!!!
Why does the PLEX Server not support running the application as a service? You indicate it is compatible with Windows, including Windows server versions, however, one has to be logged into the machine in order to get the PLEX Server application to run!
These kinds of things missing from your system is what is preventing me from investing in the premium membership. If I didn’t see the above problems, I would have purchased it already and highly recommend your platform.
When will these two features be added to the PLEX system?
