@nickzisk Do you see your server at https://plex.tv/api/resources with correctly published local connections? The Xbox One will use those addresses to try to connect to the server over the local network. Can you access the server via those local addresses from the network the console is on? Have you also tried signing out of the app, uninstalling it, installing it again and signing back in?

Yes, I see my server with correctly published local connections.
I can access the server via local IP internally. I have tried signing out of the app and the xbox. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app with not change in behavior. I am going to try configuring a Site to Site VPN tunnel to my “home network” where the server sits with tunnel all configured to see if that will resolve the issue.
NOTE: The Xbox is at a different location running over a FAST wan link. I have a 20Mb upload from my server location with very low latency. The sign out and back in thing worked once and has not since.
Also can you access the server remotely with no issue? Or from an Xbox One outside of your network?

Moussa , sorry to be brash here but are you even reading my replies? in my reply i NOTED “The Xbox is at a different location running over a FAST wan link”.
I have 3 remote locations working fine running the Plex App. The devices are as follows: Roku gen1, Gen3 and another Gen3. I have my smart phone with Plex app over LTE working fine. All Plex App devices running the plex app work fine outside my Plex network. Only the Xbox One App is broken.
To be plain here: I have multiple plex app devices that do not require the plex pass to work. The only reason I am paying for the plex pass is for a currently broken App. I may just have to stop paying plex, which would be unfortunate as I do like the product and would like to continue to see the product grow. I just don’t like paying something for nothing.
In that case would you be willing to temporarily share the server with me so I can see if my Xbox One can access it? My Plex username is the same as my forum name.
Also the Xbox One app is no longer in a Plex Pass preview period, and so doesn’t require a Plex Pass subscription to use. But we would like to get it working for you and others with a similar issue.

Optimize Database did not fix the issue for me. The status for this thread should not be set to “Answered”
Unfortunately, it sounds like you don’t have the same issue as the person who started the topic. Using the optimize database feature did fix their problem which is why they marked it as solved.
It is my observation that the local network discovery for xbox one is broken. I fixed this issue by signing in to plex on the server. The xbox one was already signed in. But throughout all of my troubleshooting my other clients (iphone, ipad, android, chromecast) were able to stream from plex.

Not broken, but forbidden for 3rd party apps. That’s why having your server signed in is a requirement ![]()

I made the security setting change mentioned above (Allow on Same Network) and that didn’t change anything.I was able to fix this by going to Settings->Account, where I noticed it had username/email as “unknown” so I signed out and then it started working and repopulated those fields with the correct information.
This fixed mine from not connecting as well. I logged out and it instantly found my server and connected again. Strange, but it worked. Oh, i did this after a full restart of the Xbox 1.

Can you explain where exactly you are changing these settings? Is it on the Xbox One or in the Plex Web app? I’m having this issue as well where I can see my server on all my other devices except for the Xbox One.

These changes were both made within the App.
With the App open hit the hamburger button on the remote, goto settings.
For the First change, scroll down to security and change the box to ‘Allow on the same network’.
For the second change, it’s the first menu in the settings screen. It should show your user name, your email address, and then sign out is the very bottom option on that screen.

Hmm, that didn’t work for me. But at least now I know how to access the settings on the Xbox one app. The weird thing is that when I use the web app at plex.tv my FreeNAS server isn’t available either. It’s only available through the IP address.

Have you setup remote access to your plex server? It sounds like since plex.tv isn’t working either that the remote connection component is having trouble locating your server. At this time the Xbox App has to use Plex.tv to find your server (3rd Parts apps are not allowed to browse the local network) so if Plex.tv isn’t getting updated then your Xbox won’t be able to find the server either.

I actually just discovered that you have to sign into the server with your account under settings. Even though I signed in when I logged onto the web app. Once I did that, the FreeNAS server became available on Xbox One.
Howdy, I’m having the same issue. I keep getting the “No server found” error in the Xbox One app. This started 2 days ago for me.
I am running Plex Server on a Synology NAS DS415+. Plex works fine on my iPad, my Android phone (both on the same network and remotely), in my web browser (same network and remotely), and through Plex for Home Theatre. I can browse the Plex Media Server through the Media Player app on the Xbox one, I just can’t access it through the Plex app.
I have tried:
- Updating my server software. I am now on version 0.9.15.2.1663-7efd046
- Restarting the plex app on the xbox one
- Signing out of the plex app on the xbox one
- Optimising my media library
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the plex app
- Restarting the server
- Restarting the Xbox after various combinations above
Nothing is working.
Help please!
@emshelly Could you post some server logs when you restart the server?
Thanks @moussa.uk
I wasn’t sure which ones you wanted so I’ve included the Media Server and DLNA server logs. I turned on verbose logging last night, and I restarted the server and tried to connect via the xbox before I downloaded the logs today (still getting the “No server” message).
Please let me know if you need any more information.
@emshelly Thanks for the logs. Could you try signing out of the server and then signing back in? It seems your server may be in a odd published state at the moment.

Ok, signed out of the server and when I tried signing back in I received a “There was a problem signing in to Plex” message and it didn’t work. I restarted the plex server on my NAS and tried again. Still didn’t work. I went to the plex site in an incognito browser to confirm I had the right password, which I do.
Now I can’t sign in to the server so plex is not working on any of my devices ![]()
Update: I’ve tried un-installing the server and re-installing. I’ve also tried going back to the previous version of the server (0.9.15.1.1639-26325ea-x86) and was still unable to log in. Also, when I have the latest version installed I still get the “An update is available. Please install manually” message.
Update2: FIXED!! After rebooting the NAS again after re-installing the latest plex server, I am now able to sign in to Plex Server, and it’s now working again on my Xbox One ![]()
@emshelly Glad to hear it
Sounds like your server had some connectivity issues with signing into plex.tv.
