Is your server setup for remote access?
The Xbox One client is restricted from browsing the local network so it does require remote access to be setup so the client can pull your server’s information from Plex.tv. After that everything is done locally.
I’ve had this issue since the last update too. Odd thing is that some folders in the same drive work, and others don’t. Its hit or miss with this error, and very frustrating. When I know the setup and everything else is fine as the media plays on other formats with no issues.

Do you mean you get this error when navigating your library, when trying to play files, or when you first open the app?
If it’s the first option try optimizing your database which has been seen to fix issues when entering libraries.
If it’s the second option check your Plex Media Server.log as it has been seen lately that not being able to transcode or not enough free space for the transcoder to run will cause this error message to appear.
If it’s the last option how is your network setup, can you still reach your server remotely or from plex.tv/web?
OK, this is a serious problem Dumb that it’s even an issue.
Limited Library Sizes … easily reproduced.
To Many Shows in a Library(Same Library as Roku) Causes it NOT to be able to find the server puts up error
Cut Library down to 97(May allow few more not tested yet) one show 5 seasons and it loads fine.
You see this in the Roku as well, taking up to 5mins to load a Library but at least the Roku loads them.
Any Way to fix this would be appreciated so I can use TV Show/ShowName/Season instead of the Limited Showname/Season that does not produce the metadata

Did you try optimizing your database? There has been reports of a possible aggressive time out that causes a library that is unoptimized to timeout in the app before the server is able to respond.
On my main server I have a TV Show library with well over 200 TV Shows that loads with no issues. On my temporary server I am using now I have around 150 TV Shows.

JMcKee:
I Did not try that, so with your suggestion I went to look for this option optimize. In hunting it I found a tick/check box unchecked it and it DID the job. I never did find the optimize but meh.
So ANY one having problems with loading libraries hit the pencil(EDIT) on your library go to Advanced(on the left) then on the right side untick/uncheck “Enable Video Preview Thumbnails” I’m not real sure why this feature is even in there but I guess some would like it.
In the mean time I’ll go look for this optimize. Thanks for the suggestion and making me dig into more options in the server. Hopefully this will fix the original posters problem also.

These are what take the little snap shots so when you FF/RW you get a little image of where the video is located at. They also show up in the now playing portion of the web manager.

On the line that says ‘LIBRARIES’ in dark gray it’s under the … menu.
Surprising that Enable Video PReview Thumbnails would fix it. My only guess on that would be that the database is close to the limit with optimization and that might just be the little bit that is causing the issue.

I am able to navigate my library without any issues on my XB1. I have folders for TV, Movies, etc. When I go to play a specific file, lately anything that on a specific folder on my NAS drive, when I click to play it, I get the error message above. But then if I try to play a different file from the different folder, from the save drive, I get it to work.
Eg. NAS Drive is my S Drive. Within that S drive, I’ll have a Movies folder and Shows folder. Anything that goes into the Movies folder doesn’t seem to want to play on my XB1. But anything that goes into my Shows folder works.
If I use Plex on my PC, the same movies in that same folder, will play without any issues. So the XB1 displays the files, its when I click it that it gives me the error.

Will Optimize fix this?
This sounds more like an issue transcoding. The reason is that when the transcoder fails currently all the app see’s is that the server stopped send it data so it gives you the cannot find server/unvailable error.
The best option would be to restart the server and then try and playback one of the files that is failing and then attach the Plex Media Server.log. This will be the log that contains what is happening during the request and the restart before hand will keep the log down to a minimum.
You may have already done this, but when I first setup my system I had the same problem: Sign-in to the Plex server via a PC/Mac, go to settings (spanner/screwdriver icon), select the Server tab, and make sure it says, “Server signed in as __”, where __ is your Plex account. I found that I had to sign in to my Plex account on that page too and after that the Xbox One could find the server.
