Xbox One cannot find server

Hi Guys,

 

So last Wednesday Plex was working perfectly, I went away for a week, come home and now it 'can't connect to any of my media servers'. The Xbox did an update, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it? I have version media server version 0.9.11.16.958 and the Xbox says I need at least 0.9.10.3 so that shouldn't be an issue.

 

Any ideas? Bought Plex Pass and will cancel now probably if it doesn't work. :( Shame cause I really liked it.

 

I have tried:

- Uninstalling and reinstalling Media Server

- Un/reinstalled Plex Xbox One App

- Logged out, re-entered PIN

- Disconnected from Wireless network and reconnected (to make sure I was on the same network)

- Cold reset my Xbox (i.e. power off from the wall)

Do you have your server successfully connected to plex.tv?  The Xbox One app needs to connect to plex.tv to pull the information for the server so if either the app or the server cannot successfully connect then the App cannot find your server.

Hi I have the same issue frequent disconnects when playing plex on my Xbox one app. My media sever is on a windows 8.1 of. I can’t get it to connect to plex TV, tried port forwarding and everything.

I have the same issue. Purchased Plex pass to connect to library on server and my xbox cannot find any servers. My server is broadcasting an address of 127.0.0.1 but PC and XBOX are on 10.0.0.X IP range should the server be the same range? If so how do I change the server address?

Shouldn’t someone be answering these questions? Is there a Mod?

Same problem with me: Xbox one, Mac. Worked perfectly for a year. Now, i’m in a new apartment with a better modem, and Plex disappears and/or just doesn’t show up at all.

If your Plex app is not finding or connecting to your Plex Media Server, please first ensure that:

  1. You are running a current version of the Plex Media Server. Check Plex Downloads page for the latest version.
  2. You’ve signed into the Plex Media Server using your Plex account
  3. Your app is signed in and connected to your account

I having a similar problem. Xbox One can see the server as it’s got the name at the top, but an ‘unknown error’ stops it from connecting. The logs don’t show it attempting connection.

Thats just dumb, whats the point of being able to point it directly to the Plex server IP to stream from if you still need internet access!?
