XBox One - Error: "Unexpected Error"

I'm having the exact same problem. Video stops every few minutes. Any solution to this as yet?

Another report of the Xbox One App producing the error "unexpected error" about once every few minutes. Unusable.

Web Version 2.3.7 

Server Version 0.9.11.7.803-87d0708

Mac Yosemite

All on wifi

No trouble with any other device, just the Xbox One. It so happens the Xbox one is the reason I purchased the plex pass. I'd really love to hear an update on this fix!

I'm having the same problem too, when playing videos on an Xbox One.  It's not located in the same house but there's plenty of bandwidth available, and plenty of transcoding performance to spare.   And yet after a random period of time during watching a film, it'll suddenly stop with "unexpected error".  Usually you can hit retry and it'll carry on, but it's all a bit random.

At the moment I'm glad I'm paying monthly for the Plex Pass, as I can see it getting cancelled if the stability of the app isn't improved upon!  It's a shame there's seemingly no word whatsoever from the developers about this!

I've found out that if you get "unexpected error" shortly after you start a video activating subtitles or changing the video quality from highest to something lower allows the video to keep playing. It might be something in the video file itself.

I don't understand what you mean by include in dashboard???  Where did you find this setting?

I dont understand about the dash board ?? do you mean when its pinned to dashboard ??

In the server, edit one of your libraries and it is in advance, but this was not the solution for me... optimizing the library was.

Deactivating the dashboard does nothing for my problem. It also should not even be considered a 'solution'.

Hope this gets fixed soon. It used to work perfectly.

That was not the solution for me, if you read my post the solution was optimizing the library. I have not had a problem since.

I have this error come and go seemingly randomly. The "Include in Dashboard" doesn't fix it and neither does optimizing the library. I'm getting pretty frustrated with never knowing whether i'll be able to watch shows.

I too suffer with this issue...

 

Not just twice - every few minutes - i tried for a whole hour to watch my program and just gave up in the end.

As you can see this is every second - and in some cases milliseconds!!

This might be me hitting the retry button in quick succession in anger and frustration before shouting a series of swear words and turning the damn thing off.

 

The Xbox says there is a network error - i don't believe this to be my hardware at all as nothing else fails with a network error.

If anyone from the Development team want a copy of the entire log, i have one saved - message me.

Been having this problem ever since my first use of PLEX, and I bought a plex pass from the beginning.....
