HI there!
i have some problems that the year, and in some case the movie summary/infos in some (more than the half of my database) movie titles are not shown. i still tried to refresh or reload the whole metadata in the movie section. i still tried to delete and reogranize the whole database again - but same problem again. Do anybody have the same problem? As Agent i use Plex Movie. The Posters are all loaded, so the Plex Movie Agent match the movies, but is not loading the metadata in some case correctly/fully.
i found one solution, but i will have to sit for hours (my movie database is about 1000 movies and about 600 out of them are without year) to click on the movie, click on fix incorrect match and load the metadata again. Then the year and all infos are shown.
Maybe somebody can help - thx a lot!
only for info - in about 400 out of the 1000 movie titles the year/movie infos are shown/loaded correctly. in the other 600 not.

FileBot (link in my signature) can, with almost 100% accuracy, pre-match and re-name all your files in seconds.
this is not my problem. Files are all matched with the plex movie agent correctly. but the agent is not loading the full metadata infos. often the year is missing or the summary. so its not the problem of the naming of the files…
but thanks.
Well, the Plex Movie agent doesn’t do much for you if you aren’t a Plex Passer and I stopped taking people’s word on their file naming a long time ago.
Plex Movie was nailed together in a partnership with IMDB as a replacement for Freebase that went belly-up. It’s main function is to retrieve trailers for Plex Passers. IMDB typically has one (1) movie name and if the one you’re using ain’t it - that’s it.
I would use The Movie Database. TMDB sometimes has many different names associated with the movie and one of those may be the one you’re using. If/when that too doesn’t produce much edible fruit we can revisit this file name thing.

Or you can start attaching log files (that will show us your file names) and when we see you’re file names are good and we can start looking for something else.
Troubleshooting starts at the beginning and continues to the ultimate solution we hope.
