Year Metadata for my Personal Movies Not Showing Correctly

As I work thru my personal home movie libraries, I notice that the Year is showing up differently then the date in the metadata.
I have to go change that date, save it, then go back to the correct date to fix this. I have fixed some multiple times and they keep returning to the wrong year, even though the date info in the clip info is correct.

Anyone else having this issue an have a fix?

Apparently Plex makes everything 2017 now:

And I get to waste days editing the metadata for hundreds of files.

My issue is I go thru and fix it, and it reverts back to 2017. My date for the file is correct but still shows 2017.
There has got to be a way to fix that.
