Problem not fixed, but maybe some progress has been made?
I followed steps for “Reclaiming a lost server”
All went according to plan up till Step 16…
- After logging in, it showed all my libraries and prompted me to finish setup (which I did).
- It then prompted me to update metadata (probably because I’d updated the version of Plex in a previous attempt to fix the problem) - I let the update occur (took about 5 mins).
- I selected the profile icon in the top right and selected ‘Sign In’ - I signed in
- I still showed ‘Your home screen is empty’ but my libraries were now listed on the left pane.
- My media server was displayed at the top of the list, with a warning triangle against it
- I selected my media server, which showed “Diskstation server is unclaimed and not secure” and showed a button ‘Claim it now’ - which I clicked
- On the next screen, I selected ‘Claim Server’ - which loaded for a bit, but didn’t appear to do anything (The ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom of the screen remained greyed out).
- When I go back to Home, it still shows a warning triangle next to my media server
Interestingly, on this screen it shows “Version 1.40.4.8679 ! An update is available. Please install manually”
