That would be cool
looking forward to see if it fixes the issues
I have a development build with hopefully the fix. I made it available to @PeterJansen68 and @PolliSoft - happy to extend that if anyone else with the same issue willing to try it now
Thanks
@sa2000 can you confirm if this was also broken for movies and not just tv shows?
We have only seen the TV Scanner issues - but the actual boost upgrade issue that caused this could affect other areas in Plex Media Server and not just scanning
I have the same issue on Windows 10 and Plex Build 1.32.1.6999.
I tried redownloading and reinstalling the build but the issue persisted. I downgraded to the last version for now (1.32.0.6973). Would like to test the dev build if possible to confirm if it fixes the issue.
You need to downgrade to 1.31 to make it work or just wait for the dev build or the stable one
I hope it comes out soon⊠eager to try it out
happy to test this
I can confirm that in my Movies library, all files in Behind The Scenes and Interviews folders, got changed to individual movies (no matching of course) and moved out of the parent page.
Changing those folder names to all lowercase and rescanning the Movies library fixed it immediately.
Thatâs what I figured as well as a possible cause for this issue. Initially I discounted it, as I didnât think Plex would care about Windows regional settings.
So happy I found this post, been trying to fix this for several days.
I have the exact same issue, all my TV Shows are gone and I canât add new once.
This happened after a server update to the latest version.
Only 1 TV show out of maybe 15 is showing.
Iâm located in Sweden.
Also having the same problem. Located in Sweden
Thank you dude, solved it for me!
I hope the solution will be out soon aswell.
I can now only add new series if I manually change the episode file title from âS01E01â to âs01e01â.
All my previous added series still remain but newly added episode, I need to remove the caps of the season and episode indication from the filename
Strange, but it is a work around that works for me untill it is solved.
If you get the beta build it might be fixed for some of you
Just downloaded the beta and it seems to be working for me at least. Great job on finding the solution and implementing the fix super quick! <3
yeah the 7088 beta seems to be working
Note: This reply describes PMS for Mac bug(s) and or database corruption(s) and or architecture flaw(s) that may be completely unrelated to PMS for Windows issues.
Is it possible that episodes are actually being recorded, but either :
- despite written in correct directories, are inaccessible by Plex player UIâs; OR
- were written into the wrong directories?
I have experienced both such possibilities repeatedly occurring since installing PMS for Mac ~1.29 or ~1.28.
.
Details (If neither Possibility 1, or Possibility 2 actually occurred, further reading will be merely broadening.)
.
Possibility 1
Since either ~1.29 or ~1.28, I have seen many PMS for Mac persistent problems wherein PMS apparently successfully recorded the broadcast episode identified in the DVR Schedule of an OTA Live TV Show series (eg, âThe Late Show with Stephen Colbertâ) scheduled recording,
AND
then PMS wrote what appears to be a valid .ts file into the correct season directory of the correct TV Show directory,
AND
all Apple Plex playersâ UIâs display in the episode ⊠> Get Info > Media Info > Files the exact full correct file system path of such .ts file,
AND
such .ts file can be successfully played directly from the macOS file system using other video software (eg, QuickTime Player),
BUT
all attempts from all Apple Plex player UIâs to play such episode actually play an entirely different .ts file.
Itâs not clear from examining in detail the PMS database structure and table records whether:
- this is the result of my PMS database being corrupted; or
- PMS is actually designed to have a hidden-from-users TV Show series recorded episode .ts file system path and a second separate path for display-to-users purposes, associated with which a bug exists or a db corruption has occurred.
(Accordingly, after six months and uncountable hours troubleshooting and documenting angry-wife-inducing PMS failures, I abandoned that PMS for Mac host Mac and PMS installation, and attempted a series of clean PMS installs on clean macOS installs on a newer, higher performance Mac, moving only [in my fantasy] the external drive storing all PMS libraries and manually making minimal PMS changes to factory installation default settings. Doing so resulted in my experiencing Possibility 2.)
.
.
Possibility 2
My PMS for Mac installation has always had all its five librariesâ directories having default names and organization on an external 12TB HDD (â12TBHDDâ) accessed via a symbolic link in the PMS host Macâs host user home directory (ie, ~/Plex â /Volumes/12TBHDD/Plex ). When I moved 12TBHDD to the above mentioned new clean PMS setup, PMS appeared to function correctly, however, most (110 of 210) TV Show entries displayed blank posters. (BTW, all the 324 OTA Live TV recorded moviesâ posters display properly; and all the Recording Priority entries have correct posters, even those for TV shows missing posters from the TV Shows UI Grid View and Detail View displays.)
None of my attempts arising from what I gleaned reading dozens of Plex articles and forum topics (eg, scanning, refreshing individual or all metadata), restored any of the 110 missing TV showsâ posters ( . . . making the Apple TV Plex player app recorded-TV-show select very difficult, further frustrating my Plex-Hating wife).
( . . . picture Disneyâs Sorcererâs Apprentice . . . ) So, amongst other futile windmill tilting crusades, I tried importing the PMS com.plexapp.plugins.library.db media-subscription table that appears to be the exclusive Live TV > DVR Schedule control source and Recording Priority data repository.
( . . . now, here comes the flood . . . ) While, incidentally, this did restore my old PMS host Mac DVR Recording Schedule and Recording Priority completely, and subsequently, new TV show recordings did occur as scheduled, many of the .ts file were written to the correct library, but some were written to newly created directories, often with bizarrely-related, but wildly different, names, and a few with similar, but subtly different, names. All the .ts files could be accessed and played from the recording schedule entries, but those written in the newly created directories could not be found via the user-expected TV Shows Grid View, nor Detail View show entry. Obviously, neither could such showsâ .ts files be found doing simple operating system file perusal.
(BTW, the only way Iâve found to restore any of the missing Grid/Detail View posters was completely deleting all of such TV showâs episodes (eg, BBC News), thereby causing PMS to temporarily completely delete such TV showâs primary directory and all season subdirectories. Subsequently, upon recording such TV showâs next episode, PMS does recreate the primary and any season directories, and only then does PMS fetch and display a TV Shows > Grid View or Detail View heretofore missing poster.)
I just started seeing this issue. Iâm running server version 1.32.2.7100.
