I have been dealing with my plex loading alot of really small media files when its loading new movies. some times there are 1000 plus small bits of the movie loaded. I have to go and delete each file. I have the newest update and am running windows 10
What files are you referring to and where are they?
They get added to my list of movies when the scan is going on. sometimes they dont show up but other times there are alot of them. one time I had over 1000. They are basically tiny bits of the movie or show that is beig uploaded to my plex
Can you get info and provide the full path and filename of that Plex sees?
It sounds like you’re either pointing the library to some weird folder (e.g. the Plex server data directory) or there’s some other apps loading/adding those files to your media folder.
Did you perhaps put the Plex data folder into the same place where your media files are stored?
Or did you point your Plex library simply to the “root folder” ( i.e. the “naked” drive letter) if your hard drive?
Did you edit the location of the “transcoder temp folder” to point at the same location as your media files?
I honestly have no idea how to do that

Edit your Movie library and go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab. What is the path shown there (a screenshot like this would be helpful)?
When you look at that path in your file manager, do you see all those little media files?
No there is nothing there. and it only does this on the movies folders not the tv shows or any other folder
you do not add each individual show.
you add the folder which contains the show folders.
change your library to
g:\a\
like this
tv shows go in a tv library
movies go in a movie library
also with the parent folder, not the individual movie folders.
this /data/media/movies
not this /data/media/movies/matrix

Settings - Server - ‘Show Advanced’ - Transcoder - “Transcoder temporary directory”
Clear that one out, if you changed it from the default.
@stannash On the bottom right of the poster there should be 3 vertical dots, press that and a menu should appear, at the bottom is “get info” can you post a screenshot of the window that comes up?
Ok I see that. But I deleted the small files already so ill have to wait until they show up again. It will be soon lol
If you hover over the name of the library you should see similar 3 dots, if you select scan library, that should kick off a scan and cause the issue.
I did that. But thats the issue , it doesnt always add them. Its like it only does this if I add new movies or shows that cause it.
You showed a screenshot of your TV library folders instead of your movie library folders.
If the problem is with your movie library, then you need to screenshot that one.
