4k still sucks on xbox one -- can you please fix it

I am so unbelievably tired of the mess Plex has made with 4K native content on the xbox one.

I cannot even watch on simple 4k MKV with 1 AAC audio track without it endlessly buffering halfway through because it can’t f***ing decide what audio track to play.

Seriously, why is this so hard? Why is it doing this?

I love that it can even show me how much nothing Plex is doing.

Buffering means: I crapped out and stopped working for no reason at all

Thank you for this update, I did not see that post. This is very exciting.

This fix currently is not working for me just an FYI, I got the alpha ring update and some quick testing revealed still having buffering issues with 4k content so this fix may not actually fix the problem.

Can confirm; on Delta* ring with 19H1_RELEASE_XBOX_DEV_1904 190311-1920

Still buffers and traffic comes to a halt; Plex Server CPU increases with transcoding

Note: This was watching a copy I have with Dolby Atmos 7.1, DTS-MA 7.1 and AAC 5.1

I was, earlier, testing a copy of just AAC 7.1

Both still have buffering issues.

May jinx myself but testing my Infinity war file with AAC5.1 on track 3, so far, appears to be working, so far…

I have not had any issues with AAC or AC3 audio with 4k HDR, the buffering issues come up with DTS, TrueHD, Atmos the newer audio codecs

Can you also post here about your issues? I made a thread on the Insiders reddit and an Xbox Dev is working with me in the thread. Between this thread and the Xbox insider thread we have devs from Plex and Ms looking at this so the more people showing the issue the more attention it will get

Watched this all the way through. A few frameskips but otherwise good. Then I tried a few other files and no matter which one I tried the Xbox was transcoding to 480p. I tested out the Star Wars movie I’d just watched and sure enough it was being transcoded too. I quite the Plex app and when I started it up again it seemed to be working ok. I’m now watching Jurassic Park III which is the highest bitrate 4K movie I own:
