I’m experiencing the same as several other topics but, even after reading their description, I am not sure this isn’t a regression.
Plex Web: Version 4.72.0
Plex Server: 1.25.2.5319, Linux
Steps:
Open Plex Web, Music, Recommended section.
Click the “Play” icon while hovering on a Playlist. In this case, a 50 min, well-defined playlist with 15 songs.
2a. Optionally, open the queue to confirm that there are 15 songs there.
Scroll down to an album. Open the context menu (the “three dots”) and select “Add to Queue”.
Expected results:
Add the album after the 15 songs.
Current results:
Adds album after the first song that’s currently playing.
Surely this can’t be right? I read this thread and it seems to suggest that it should, indeed, add it after the 15 songs as “the user’s region has been established” by selecting a playlist? And I am under the impression that I have had this work as expected in the past, unless I’m misremembering.
Happy to share logs if the team can’t replicate the issue.
Thank you - I missed that distinction. Then, to be clear, on Plex Web the regions shouldn’t even be an issue and “Add to Queue” should add it to the end?
I have seen several other topics of people complaining about issues with the feature in the past that then got fixed. Shall I assume it is a regression then?
No. The playlist’s items are added to the play queue as individual play queue items. (and not as a “block”)
Which means if you use “Play Next” on additional items, they are going to be played after the current track.
Thank you for the reply. Still, apologies for asking further, but I’m not sure I followed the example.
Did you mean to say
“The playlist’s items are added to the play queue as individual play queue items. (and not as a “block”)
Which means if you use “Add to Queue” on additional items, they are going to be played after the current track.”
instead of “Play Next”?
The behaviour you describe is indeed what I’d expect from “Play Next”, as you mention, but I’d expect “Add to Queue” to add them, well, at the end of the queue. And I’m not sure I am alone in that expectation or reports?
Though this effectively only happens with playlists, and not with albums. Maybe that is the problem - and what you were trying to refer to?
