uploading to onedrive does not cause any file to be locked or inaccessable.
Are you sure on that?
yes - tested and no problem reading a file that is in the process of uploading to OneDrive - i don’t think onedrive is a factor here - i think it is these particular files - happy to send them to you for review.
It would be bad and confusing to OneDrive if the file changed while it was being uploaded. I’m guessing there is a lock.
no lock - it just starts upload over once you close it. i have seen this many times.
You mentioned S2 already existed so something cause them to go missing from the database and PMS is now adding them back in.
i keep moving them back and forth between two folders for this test purpose. they are still out of order with incorrect filenames.
These files were accessible at the time so it looks like thet got organized with the correct name.
at this time - still incorrect names - instant scan is off.
Plex creates a hint to files based on the filename.
i don’t know what a hint is - like a pointer? display name?
I’ll have to double check, but this might be the hint, without the dashes.
some do and some don’t?
It should then indicate no match found (since it’s not trying to match) and then end up using the filename. There may be a bug that if the file is inaccessible, it ends up keeping this hint. This is the only thing I can think of on where this naming is coming from.
again i can offer the files so you can add to your plex and see the results.
Now with the option turned off to do the automatic scans. Things should be better but it will be hard to test since you can’t do any testing since OneDrive may still be holding the files.
again i tested manual moving - no difference.
The only thing would be to turn off OneDrive temporarily and do a refresh metadata for the library.
ok so you are saying turn off onedrive - move some new files there and refresh - will do.
If that doesn’t work, might need a full Plex Dance for the affected files.
ok - will try.
