Any Update to Fixing Touch Support? (A Year Later)

I still use the UWP app on the Surface because of the unusable touch support of the Windows app. So, this question isn’t about “fixing” touch support, but rather making it useable as it currently does not exist - on either the web browser version of Plex or the desktop app.

Surface Touch Screen Support

Why does Plex hate touch devices so much?

Plex refuses to give us an updated Windows Store app (over 1 year since last update), and now with Plex/Web v3.52.2, you’ve broken all touch functionality in browsers. Support for Touch in Web Player

It doesn’t appear that any Plex app supports touch under Windows. Is there anyway to use a Windows tablet with Plex?

Server Version#: Player Version#: When using a touch interface such as Microsoft Surface Go, or any tablet using Plex Web, when pressing the play/pause button at the bottom player bar, there is a bug, where the player pauses and play and pauses rapidly, and keeps going on and off and on and off. Bring back Touch and Big Screen for Windows

Please bring back Touch and Big Screen in the Windows player. Hi, the new Desktop Player for Windows is a huge step backward for Surface Users. on my surface go, the Player is almost unusable, because of the missing touch and pen support. I dont use a Mouse… Please add touch and pen support.

Download Location in New Windows App

I downloaded the new app to replace the Microsoft Store version on my Surface Pro. Besides the obvious issues with lack of being touch friendly, the biggest issue so far is, I want to download to my SD card not to my drive. I often download large amounts for travel, which is why I have the SD card. I cannot find a setting to change the download location in the new app, am I missing it?

Play/Pause button clicking twice on AiO touchscreen

Touch not working properly

Server Version#: 4.22.3 Player Version#: 1.11.0.1215-1d8c460c on Windows 10 I’m experiencing a lot of problems on my Surface Pro using touch to operate the latest player for Windows. It seems that most of the time a single tap is interpreted as a double click. This didn’t happen with the UWP app, but you stopped that support. Please fix this problem.

Another Plex for Windows Update and

PMP has seen more updates than the supposed flagship windows app. And cpu usage when idle is still high, I don’t think anything has changed with sync and it’s still not very usable on a touch screen. Plus it’s a pain to keep it updated manually given they’re not interested in publishing it to the store.

Plex for Windows Downloading

You guys really have to know that laptops with touch screens, convertibles and windows tablets are a thing and will continue to be? I fully understand that touch UI/UX <> mouse keyboard UI/UX, which is why there is often dedicated interfaces to each. Touch is not going away. Next will be AIR GESTURE user experiences (especially, but not limited to, in automotive). (not to mention, the already expanding VOICE ux such as alexa/google/siri).

Any response from a Plex exployee? Windows convertibles are definitely becoming a popular, just look at the moves by Microsoft. Most flagship laptops come with a touch screen option.

Really, many of these touch fixes would likely be simple changes on frontend code.
