Asustor AS6704T NAS Remote Access

I have the aforementioned NAS and cannot get the remote access enabled where it stays that way all the time. I have an ATT BGW320-500 router fiber optic modem with gigabit internet fiber connection. What I want to do is use PMS on my Pixel 7a phone (which is installed) and be able to stream content to a smart TV when I am traveling. I had some help from a Plex employee in the past but no joy as it would always reset back to disconnected. He didn’t have any experience with Asustor NAS and I’m back to square one. Nothing has been changed in the router settings for this as I don’t want to open a port due to cyberattack vulnerability. Would a static IP address for the NAS help resolve this issue or are there other settings in my NAS that will allow remote access?

You must open a port for Plex Remote Access to work.

The alternative is to use Plex Relay. The stream is limited to 2 Mbps (1 Mbps w/o a Plex Pass).

For info on configuring remote access, see Changed ISP - No Remote Access with AT&T BGW 320-500 - #3 by FordGuy61. Substitute your Asustor for the Western Digital My Cloud.
