AT&T Fiber Gateway Settings - Remote Access

Server Version#: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 3
Player Version#: 4.123.2

I recently switched from Spectrum to AT&T Fiber and am encountering difficulties enabling remote access for my Plex Media Server. Previously, I had no issues with remote access when using my own router, but now with the AT&T BGW320-505 Gateway Modem/Router, I’m struggling to get it working.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • Plex Server Version: DSM 7.2.1-69057 Update 3
  • Plex Player Version: 4.123.2
  • Router: AT&T BGW320-505

Currently, I have set up IP Passthrough on the router to my NAS, but despite this, remote access remains unavailable.

I’ve searched extensively for documentation or guides specific to configuring the BGW320-505 router for Plex remote access, but haven’t found any clear instructions.

Could someone please advise on the specific settings or configuration changes needed on the BGW320-505 router to enable remote access for my Plex Media Server? Any documentation or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated.

That is the wrong place in the router. Back out anything you changed in that section and restart the router.

Note: Not the same system as in the post above, so it has a different IP address (.49 vs .55). Adjust accordingly.

This was quite a process but it’s up and running. I never would have figured out this process without your help. Thank you!!
