I’m on the latest version and this issue definitely still happens.
Seems that on the latest beta for me the initial and 2nd episodes play and then the 3rd will transcode (and change the subtitles along with it) or stay paused. If i go back to 8.11.0.22166-beta then everything seems fine. Once I upgrade to >= 8.12.0.22456-beta then the problems start happening.
And devs, why, when you’re sitting on the post-play screen does the next episode show as streaming (via tautulli), but paused with the stream progress at 99%? What the heck is that? Don’t open the episode until it’s requested, you’re opening up a whole can of worms (if you’re doing this on purpose).
I started looking into plex dash whenever episodes start transcoding on autoplay. I noticed that H264 files play fine without transcoding, but H265 videos are the problem.

still having same problems. İn addition to autoplay or play next problem; especially when i pause any movie or tvshow, if screensaver starts after a certain minutes video freezes when resuming.

Obviously this has been forgotten about.
This is driving me absolutely mad… You cant stick a TV series on without having to come out pause and resume every episode.
TV episodes on my Fire TV sometimes freeze at the end of the episode.
I get the 10 second countdown to start the next episode but then nothing happens
If I manually back out of the episode at the end and go back to the screen that shows all the episodes for that season… the episode I just watched shows as played. The yellow line below the episode goes all the way across the screen. Buf If i push play it doesn’t play the next episode in line, it restarts the episode I just watched from the beginning
Resume isn’t even on the screen, and I’m pushing Play not Play From Start
I have to manually back out of the episode I just watched all the way to the home screen and wait for it to register in the continue watching…then continue on to the next episode
This has been happening for a long time with no solution so I guess I’ll just turn off the Up Next feature and live without it
Also If i go into a library it loads instantly. If I go into a collection it takes forever to load the posters. At least 10 seconds.
Is that normal?
Almost a year since this has been signaled, x265 files cause this on Android most often than not. Next episode won’t play if it’s from same season or in a normal playlist or even a smart playlist.
It’s been a long while. It hasn’t worked for me in over a year now. I’m just bumping this post to make sure it doesn’t auto close. I do use a 4k fire stick and Plex uses the exoplayer
i have also a problem with autoplay. The New Episode Starts but the video was black and there is no sound
Android tv or something else? The Roku and Kodi app works for me, but the android tv app won’t autoplay - just the black screen counting backwards

Same. Autoplay broken on my Android TV app. If I shuffle ANYTHING; collection, TV series, playlist, doesn’t matter. First video plays through fine, it ends, countdown begins and finishes, and I get an endless black screen with a loading wheel. When I back out into the menu, I get an unable to navigate file not found message. If I play said video manually, it plays fine. It’s only autoplay with a problem and it’s been like this for 3 or 4 weeks. Shuffle is essentially broken. I don’t seem to have the issue if I cast from my Android phone to the TV, so it’s only affecting the Android TV client; for me at least. Are you guys working on this? I miss being able to shuffle. Please fix this.
I test it with all iOS devices and Apple tv. The problem was only with Android TV. Please fix it soon.
