Another note for the Amazon Appstore version 8.27, it appears the autoplay issue is resolved however the next episode starts before the countdown is finished, so you hear audio before the video while the countdown finishes. Your on the right track for a fix, just wanted to mention this slight annoyance with the new stable build.
Also noted that when you first launch Plex, and try to play a movie or show, Plex stops and sends you back to the home screen, launching Plex again works and we are able to play without issue. Very odd…
I’ve been having the same issue with TV episodes on my Lenovo Tab 4 device when using the Plex apk from google playstore (current version installed is 8.27.2.29938).
Sequence of events: start plex, select TV episode, episode plays fine but, when finished, screen is then black, autoplay of next episode does not occur, after a 15 sec +/- period Plex often crashes and restarts itself.
During the times Plex does not crash, I can get back to the Plex home screen and the next episode that should have started appears listed in a black status bar shown at the bottom of the window… selecting the play button located there does not initiate playback. In this instance, I have to quit Plex and restart in order to play the next episode. Rinse and repeat.
I have tried clearing the cache, restarting the device and uninstalling and reinstalling the Plex apk, to no avail. Problem has been present for a few months now.
