On PMP (in Windows 10) is Bitstreaming automatic? is there a setting I seen to click?
I have read on the Intel Site “as long as you’re bitstreaming, the receiver will support it, and the file is encoded as Atmos/DTS:X, it will play.” - But can’t find a setting in PMP to ensure I am bitstreaming.
Exclusive mode is good to have on too. It makes it so Plex has audio priority. Handy to have on if using windows so it doesn’t make any sounds while watching a movie
Thanks, I assumed that was the case, and have it set that way, just wanted to double check that there was not a setting I missed (or something in windows, etc)
Thanks Otto, sometimes I can’t see things in front of my face! :s
Now that I have the right app, I have another issue. I play a TrueHD movie, my receiver says TrueHD, but there’s no sound. I even tried switching to AC3, nothing.
@roverny74 The fact that the receiver says TrueHD means PMP appears to be bitstreaming the audio properly. When you’re playing something with a TrueHD track, what does it show for audio when you hit the “i” key during playback?
Normally when I bitstream, using Movies&TV or MPC, I don’t have touch anything in Movies&TV and MPC I have to turn all the formats on, and it just works. It doesn’t matter what the “sound” control panel is set to.
For PMP, when I have the sound control panel set to xxbit, xxKHz, the audio will play, but the receiver says “PCM”. When I change the sound control panel to “Dolby Atmos for Home Theater”, the receiver says TrueHD, but no audio. It also doesn’t seem to matter if I have “allow applications to take exclusive control…” (WASAPI) checked or not.
Thus I’m thinking the sound control panel is where the issue lies, but not sure what to do.
I’m using the latest version of Win10, version 1709 (OS Build 16299.248) and Intel integrated GFX.
