I bought the App, my Plex server is working great on my fire stick. But no matter what I do when I log in or try manual address ( which always fails), Also it cannot detect the plea server. I end up with a pretty white screen. nothing else.
My flex ■■■ server is running on a new Mac Mini, My house is wired for Gigabit ethernet.

Which app is “the” app? I’m guessing you mean Simplex, in which case there’s a thread dedicated to it here - https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/187382/simplex-a-native-3rd-party-plex-client-for-the-new-apple-tv-4th-gen#latest - to save you browsing through hundreds of posts, the problem you’re experiencing is most often related to Plex GDM autodiscovery.
On the plex server ensure that under remote access the private & public addresses are both correct, toggle it off and back on again. Simplex uses this information as part of its discovery for the servers so it must be enabled and working.
Under network, make sure secure connections is “preferred” and not “required”.
If you run a VPN on your plex server, turn it off when doing the remote access toggling. Most VPN’s don’t work well with Plex’s GDM autodiscovery.
If that doesn’t fix your issues, then it’s probably best to ask in the other thread as the writer of the app is in there checking and responding to most posts.

Manual address entry is broken, a fix was submitted to the app store on day 1 but it’s still awaiting approval. Try the things I suggested above as Simplex is currently very reliant on the remote access settings, or post in the other thread and get assistance straight from the dev.
I saw this when I tried to connect without being logged into Plex. Once I logged in, connected right away. I used manual address entry (lower case only). I rebooted the ATV after I logged into Plex but before configuring Simplex.
Are you sure you’re logged into Plex? I use a mini (10.6) as a server as well as an rMBP (10.10), also over ethernet. Works fine with both servers. Running whatever today’s versions are as I updated Plex Server and PHT before installing the ATV.
I am logged into Plex. I have uninstalled and rebooted everything many times. tried both manual and by logging in. manual results in an immediate crash. Signing in results in white screen.
I have the same problem on a new AppleTV (4th generation) … Tried everything and always end up with a blank screen. I note that my Aple TV Is a blank nameless black square under the devices tab on my Plex sever. Where as other devices are named.
