Yes, we’re looking into it and making improvements to the loading of the application which appears to be the cause of these issues.
Has there been progress to fix this issue? It has already been more than 3 months.
If it is not an easy fix, please roll-back the offending software to pre-October 2021 while the team is looking for a solution

Would you be able to record a video and share it with me showing what happens from the launch of the app currently? We’ve made some changes to what the app loads when it starts up, that should help and have some more things to do with it as well, but more information where it’s failing for you will help.

I did previously before deleting. You get the initial Plex logo then black screen - the smaller logo that animates to the gold > never happens.

Please consider sharing/DMing a debug ipk with verbose startup logging, maybe also displayed on the tv. If you’re unable to recreate the issue this is the only way you’ll get to the bottom of it any time soon.
Yeah, that’s something I’ve been considering, but wanted to get this latest release out.
Unfortunately sideloading apps on webOS requires a developer account and deploying it through their tooling, instead of loading from a USB drive and in order to properly test this a custom build with logging to the screen may give inaccurate results.
I have a dev account - spent a year using Jellyfin before losing faith they were ever going to ever release their app on the store.
New version - for me new version yesterday worked well ,turned tv on off three times and each time plex loaded properly . But today its not working again ,same as previous version . Black screen and no second plex logo .No menu .Maybe when app was updated ,some old cache get cleared, and then app functions properly for that time ,until next day ,or when bug in app corrupts that cache .Just guessing . Also incorrect menu after watching video is present again , duplicate "recently added in Other videos2 " present twice .
Thanks to @mr_trebus for helping troubleshoot this issue further, the underlying issue is network related, resulting in failed requests and the app not loading successfully. These failures will now be retried, so barring continued network issues the app should load successfully, though might take a bit longer to do so. This fix is in 5.31.1.
5.31.1 fixes all my startup issues. So does that mean I have network problems? If so I would like to know what was considered network issues so I could possibly resolve them.
According to the browser that webOS runs apps in; yes, but it’s not clear what that really means in terms of actual network connectivity because requests before and after the failed requests work without issue and retrying the failed requests works. Based on things working on other devices at the same time, my most educated guess is something on the TV side drops, some requests fail and it starts working again, but only some of the time.
All issues fixed in this version ,congratulations ,we all can again enjoy this great app !
