[Bugs] PLEX Player 3.84.2 - Samsung Tizen 2.4.0 - 2016 TVs ☞ ONLY!

Im having exactly the same issue as Pssok88, when I try to click on anything with the ‘enter’ button I get the unexpected error, but when I press play it does play but I cannot select what episode of the show I want to play until it is already playing, then I can go to episode list during the play menu.

am on tizen 2.4 running plex 3.84.3, was the same on 3.84.2 so updated hoping it would fix it…which it didnt, cant remember tv model number as Im at work currently

UNKS7000
Plex 3.84.3
Tizen 2.4.0

OMG! It’s getting impossible to use Plex! Yesterday I’ve watched a movie and about every 3 or 5 minutes it would freeze (a black screen) and come back (after a loading) but converting and with tiny subtitles and without the option to choose direct play, unless I returned and play it again, but every 3 or 5 minutes! This NEVER happened before, why does it have to happen now?

Same here
TV = Samsung UN65KS8000

That fixed it for me thanks

Any news?
Just tried Plex today but it is not possible to watch movies…
DTS is supported by my TV (Samsung MU8009) but Plex is hanging up or won’t play.

Some media files will not play correctly over 720p. They work transcoding to 720p 4Mbit, but any 1080p configuration and there is only black screen with audio. It’s possible to change back to 720p and playback resumes with picture again.

Same issue here as Thorsten_Schneider.
Lines of code on the top with a few UI elements.
Plex hasn’t been working for weeks now.
Have a Samsung 2016 8-series, plex player version 3.84.3.
Any idea when this will be resolved?

Hi, I was able to resolve this by uninstalling and reinstalling Plex server on my computer.

What do you mean? Buffering issue?

Does the database have to be rebuild?

I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall for 6 months now. It did go from many lines of codes, to just the few in the last update, like throstens screenshot…I guess that’s progress lol…

but seriously, plex needs to get some samsung tv’s inhouse and test this ■■■■ before they release. it’s just one broken release after another :S

So I figured a work around for the errors I was having in previous post.

In the settings > video > change local, remote and online quality all to original, can leave default check direct play and direct stream.

You should now be able to watch, this solves errors that I described.

Waiting for a Fix

KS8000, was working for a while but sometimes i don’t get any artwork or thumbnails and other times i get a black screen with writing at the top and nothing works. If i power the TV off and back on again, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s really unpredictable

Happy to help with logs if required?

Is possible that when this fix will be released to include also the fix for subtitles causing a change from direct play to transcoding? I understood that it’s ready and just need to be included in a release.

why it takes so long to fix the buffering issue on Samsung TVs?
The problems was not there in old releases - i am paying for the Plex pass and can’t use it.

Yeah man, feels bad.
We are Samsung acolytes, so we don’t present much interest.

Any news on the subtitles bug making Direct Play switching to transcoding after a few minutes?

A lot of fixes will be in the next release, just awaiting Samsung approval.
