After I copy the file 9.mkv it does not recognize it so nothing is added to the library.
If I search for it again nothing
I do believe this movie is not in any database plex is using as when I search Shane Acker or Tim Burton also 9 does not show up
Plex’s scanner has difficulty to recognise a file name which consists of a single-digit number as a proper movie title. Generally, refer to https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/your-media/
Try this.
(it is recommended to use a subfolder per movie)
movies/
9 (2009) - {imdb-tt0472033}/
9 (2009) - {imdb-tt0472033}.mkv
Plex is using both TheMovieDB.org and IMDb.com, which both are listing the movie.
Nothing works
Changing the name - naming it: 9 (2009) - {imdb-tt0472033}.mkv
putting it in a folder under /movie/9 (2009) - {imdb-tt0472033}/
What would be great is if you had an ability to just manually add it.
Maybe it had already been added but has been mismatched as a different item / merged with another movie.
-
Check for the 2nd (merged with another movie) → filter your library for duplicates and check if any of those contains the file from your post (e.g.
>
Info
) -
Check for the 1st (mismatched as a different item) → sort your library by date added… this should show all recent additions on top so you can check if there’s a movie that doesn’t belong and Plex might have mismatched the file from your post as that
If the checks above are getting out of hand (e.g. if you recently added tons of new movies) you should also be able to do a full Plex Dance (full procedure explained in the linked post).
I have had this movie in my Library for ages I didn’t do anything particularly special, didn’t even bother with year.
I literally have a folder called 9 and the movie labelled as 9.ext.
I cannot remember if it was a duplicate or anything but it’s there .
M:\Movies\9\9.avi
Yes it merged with once upon a time in hollywood - fixed it
