Cannot fix match

When upgrading to the Plex Movie agent (the new one), it unmatched my formerly correct match of tt0130414 and nothing I do will fix the match. I’ve tried searching for tt0130414, imdb-tt0130414, renaming the file to include {imdb-tt0130414}, and of course searching by title. Nothing can find this movie.

Plex DocumentationYour Media
Naming & Organizing Your TV Show Files

tt0130414 is a TV mini-series.

  1. It belongs in a TV Show, not movie, library.
  2. Plex uses thetvdb.com and themoviedb.org to match TV shows.

Name the file(s) appropriately and place them in a TV show library.

/TV Shows <- Folder added to TV Show library
.../Merlin (1998) {tvdb-83269} <-- Show_Name (year). TVDB ID optional, but helps.
....../Season 01 <-- "Season" in English. Two digits for number.
........./Merlin (1998) - s01e01.ext <--sXXeYY mandatory; ext = mkv/mp4/etc.
........./Merlin (1998) - s01e02.ext
........./Merlin (1998) - s01e03.ext

If you have all three episodes in one file, you can use Multiple Episodes in a Single File naming.

You may need to Plex Dance the file(s).

I know it’s a TV miniseries, but it’s logically a movie. The same folder has other TV miniseries that it matches with no problem. And this matched fine before the new Plex Movie agent, so this is a behavior regression.

Moving this movie into a TV series library is not an acceptable solution.

Plex has never supported mixing TV shows and movies in the same library.

The Plex Movie and Plex TV Series agents are more strict than the legacy agents regarding naming and organization.

Some naming & organization methods that were unsupported but worked with the legacy agents no longer work with the new agents.

There is no listing for Merlin as a movie in either IMDB or TMDB. It is listed as a TV Show at TMDB and TVDB.

If you want Plex to match, pull metadata, etc, you will need to place Merlin in a TV Show library.

Other TV miniseries still work fine with Plex Movie, though; e.g., tt0112130. I have a good half dozen that have no problem with matching at all with the current agent. It’s just the one that has the problem. I tried changing the library to use the old agent(s) (tried them all), but it won’t match at all anymore, even using the old agents.

It may have at some point been classified as a movie but changed or removed sometime after that.
