I just added “The Umbrella Academy” show in my PMS and it’s not successfully getting any metadata. I tried to do a “Match” or “Fix Match” and it successfully sees a match from TVDB but does nothing when I click it. What seems to be the problem here?
Oddly enough I’ve seen this creeping up. When this happens to me I do the “Fix Match” thing and select TheMovieDB as the matching agent. It’s been working so far.
I also tried that to no avail. The cover art for the show and the episodes are just blank.
I suggest The Plex Dance ™ then.
Not that again
Do you personally have “The Umbrella Academy” in your library though?
I do. Not season 2 though… not there yet, lol
Do you know how to do the Plex Dance in Linux? Moving the media files/folders out of the original target folder doesn’t change their inodes so Plex still detects them. What I did was to rename the original folders to append _temp in them and then created new folders that have the same name. I scanned the library files after that and they became “unavailable” but emptying the trash and clearing the bundles did nothing. I still see the metadata in the Plex GUI. After that, I put back the original folders to their original state, scanned the library files, and the metadata did not even refresh a bit.
That, I do not know.
Yeah, I did the Plex Dance even though the inodes of all my media files were kept the same after the first step and it seems to have done the trick. It sucks that it’s already 2020 and we still need to do this stupid Plex Dance once in a while. It’s one of those things that should not be done if the Plex scan agents are doing their job properly.
