I was watching some content from my tablet and playback stopped. I assumed it was a bad network connection since I was at a hotel. I didn’t think much of it at the time.

Checking my email later today, I saw that I needed to change my password. I did that. I can’t access anything now from either the (remote) web interface or any Android app.

I’ve tried rebooting the server, rebooting the host, installing the latest beta package, clearing cache, and trying other browsers (chrome-based, and firefox variants).

I don’t have local access right now, so I can’t check that until sometime next week.

I’m not really sure what other steps I can take here. I’ve gone through the Plex Troubleshooting page and nothing relevant came up. I would really appreciate some ideas. I was kinda blindsided by this.

I have exactly the same problem

When you change your Plex account password, it unclaims your server, e.g. removes it from your account. You need to re-claim the server.

If you have remote access to the Synology NAS (Synology DSM, not Plex), then this should work.

If running DSM 7, see FAQ 31: Reset / Reclaim PMS on DSM 7 (Not Authorized - Locked Out)

If running DSM 6, see FAQ 15: Claiming & Connecting to a troublesome Synology server. Use DSM 6 Alternate Method 2.

FAQ 31 solved my problem. I greatly appreciate it!
