Can't add BBC Documentaries from TheTVDB (Named w/ Plex formatter and FileBot)

Server Version#: 4.30.2

I have attempted to add the HyperNormalisation documentary from BBC Documentaries Season 2016 to no avail.

I named it following the FileBot guidance and it is successfully matched there, but is not appearing in my TV library. I also did the “Plex Dance” several times. It should match https://thetvdb.com/series/bbc-documentaries/episodes/5796479 but I can’t even match manually because nothing shows up for the series to drill down to the Match menu.

Do this now:
Server/Settings/General:
Disable Verbose
Enable Debug

Show the file path to the root.

and do this:

Refresh metadata - if no joy…

All Steps - In Order - Or it Won’t Work:

If no joy:

Download the logs - drop zip file on message window.

It does work - for this test alongside all my other BBC Docs:

So - I’ll guess embedded metadata is making your life miserable - or the file path to the root - or the logs - will reveal something way out of whack.

Great file names tho… that ain’t the problem…lol

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I moved the LMA agent to the bottom of my priority lists and left it enabled on all tabs, because it was previously enabled near the top.

Then I took these steps:

Edit the metadata with UniConverter (Finds the show in TVDB) I tried with and without metadata filled in.

  1. Refresh Metadata (No dice)
  2. Move files outside of TV dir
  3. Scan Library
  4. Empty Trash
  5. Clean Bundles
  6. Move Files inside of TV dir
  7. Scan Library (No dice)
  8. Refresh Metadata (No dice)

I’ve attached my Non-Verbose Debug log here: Plex Media Server Logs_2020-07-07_14-45-06.zip (3.3 MB)

Thanks again for your assist.

I’m almost done:

… now I’m done…

I’m now an observer…

Your logs don’t even show PMS finding the files. Something is not working right with the dance. The scanner still thinks there is content in there.

Maybe try recreating the library since there is only 1 other show with 3 episodes. It shouldn’t take very long. If it doesn’t work, send me the logs right after trying to create the library. Do not try anything else.

I noticed that too.

I haven’t reviewed these, I just deleted the library, and added it back, then exported logs again.

Huh. The scanner still doesn’t see the files. I wonder if it’s a permission issue. I’m not familiar with MAC so I have no idea how that is done, but something is keeping the scanner from seeing those files.

let me dig…

Should have tried this first:

$ ls -als
total 32
 0 drwxrwxr-x 5 admin staff 170 Jul 7 16:05 .
 0 drwxr-xr-x 7 admin staff 238 Jul 1 12:07 ..
32 -rw-r--r--@ 1 arosboro staff 10244 Jul 7 16:05 .DS_Store
 0 drwxr-xr-x@ 4 arosboro staff 136 Jul 7 13:41 60 Minutes
 0 drwxr-xr-x@ 4 arosboro staff 136 Jul 7 14:29 BBC Documentaries
Andrews-Mac-Pro:TV arosboro$ chmod -R 777 /Volumes/Z3R0xDEADBEEF/Digital\ Media/

It works now, thanks for helping me run through the paces to figure it out.

EDIT: For clarification, I still had to match it with “BBC Documentaries” and Year “1936”, but as soon as I ran chmod, the media showed up in the web player.
