I’ve just switched over to my new Synology NAS RS1221+ from my DS918+.
On the old NAS Plex DVR was perfectly up and running with my AVM FritzBox 6490 Cable (I know it’s not officially supported but worked like a charm)
Now i migrated my PMS and wanted to set up DVR again but noticed that PMS seems unable to contact the FritzBox (192.168.8.1).
Between the FritzBox and the PMS is a Unifi USG - but that is the exact same setup as before.
Any ideas what to do or how to add the FritzBox as DVR device?
Plex states “Device not found. Check if the device is turned on and connected to the local network”.
Nevertheless DVR works anyway on the old setup even with this error. I successfully watched live via DVR and tried a recording.
I asume that Plex is having some issues with the DVR devicing beeing connected to an other Network (192.168.8.x) than the PMS is (192.168.10.x) - even if PMS can reach devices in the 192.168.8.x network.
I don’t care about the error - maybe there is a way to import the old DVR configuration via SSH? @PlexSupport?
Automatic SSDP neywork discovery of DVRs would not work if the device is not on the same local network. Manuallly specifying the IP Address during DVR setup / discovery is only available for HDHomerun DVRs
But I do not know if this is the issue and would need debug server logs to start an investigation - may also need browser network logging (if you do that - ensure you send the capture by private message)
Does the old setup exist ? Would like to compare debug server logs between old and new setup

I did some research about this behavior and decided that it would be easier to give the PMS a direct ethernet connection to the DVR device that enything else.
Anyway, now that I was able to add the DVR device I am facing some other problems - PMS woun’t find more than a maximum of 7 tuner channels.
Then I remembered a similar scenario I had before and I could solve by adding a menual ini file for channel scan with the correct QAM and Ksym/s frequencies to scan for.
Unfortunately this didn’t do the trick this time
Any ideas how to make Plex find all available channels?
After some research it seems like this is a common issue - very bad since AVM is the most common manufacturer of DVB-C devices in german-speaking countries.
User @zeppel intended to downgrade to a working PMS version for performing the channel scan only. Since I am already on DSM 7 I assume that there is no DSM7 compatible version for version 1.20 available, is it?
