thanks, I can do that but in the country selection israel is missing, is that okay?
what country should I select?
Yes, VBox provides a functional XMLTV file as part of the system which seems to be well built.
Unfortunately, Plex doesnât render any channels with spaces in their names in this XMLTV (almost all channels in some cases).
@anon18523487, given the multiple complaints about this issue, can you please let us know if there are any plans by Plex to look into it and render those channel names with spaces?
Thanks.
Hello,
Regarding the ticket raised with VBOX on this matter. As expected, they suggest to settle the problem with PLEX support as soon as integration was working before.
Is there any estimation when the problem expected to be solved? Itâs already takes a few monthsâŠ
Regards,
Michael Elin
This issue with the space in the name has been brought up to the team for investigation. This will not be specific to the VBox since we donât have one to test with.
Yes, if you are using XMLTV, the country doesnât matter. Are you using the latest version of Plex Web? I thought if you select XMLTV, it doesnât ask for a country.
With the new WEB version I can now pick a country BUT Israel is not listed
Is there a known source to get the XMLTV for Israel (Idan Plus)?
Another solution PLEX can create for us is the option to use the DVR with âtemplateâ XMLTV file just so we can watch live TV by choosing a channel.
I know it is possible since I created a manual xml file with âfictionâ channel list and a one âfictionâ program for each channel, just to see if the DVR is working and it workedâŠ
@sa2000 is there any feasible timeframe for issue to be fixed?
Looks like there is no nay attention to this. (
Regards,
Michael
We have one issue with the server team relating to the use of the VBox xmltv functionality and the issue is to do with there being space charatcer and extended characters in the channel identifiers. It is one of 4 priority DVR issues that will get looked into.
The issue mentioned above in my last which affects tuning channels on vbox using their xmltv feature and with channel identifiers that has spaces / extended characters has been fixed in Plex Web in the hosted app version 4.75 which was released today
The problem led to tuning errors and server logs showed log entry containing (The device does not tune the required channel)
The hosted web app is accessible through https://app.plex.tv/desktop
This bundled app accessed through the Plex Media Server IP Address will get updated sometime in the future
For anyone who ha this issue - please confirm that it is fixed when using the hosted web app (https://app.plex.tv/desktop) and the Vbox xmltv functionality and let me know if the problem does also need fixing in other Plex client apps
Plex Web Release Notice: Plex Web - #380 by bengeorge
- Fix watching live TV channels with special characters in channel ID
Thanks for the update.
Upon checking I can confirm that it works on the hosted web app 4.75 through https://app.plex.tv/desktop. Iâm glad to learn that the bundled app accessed through the Plex Media Server IP Address will also get the fix - please update when that happens.
Unfortunately, the issue keeps happening on both the Plex client I have on my Nvidia SHIELD TV Pro 2019 (Plex 8.29.1.30697) and the Plex client on my Galaxy S10 Plus (Plex 8.30.0.30944). Is there a plan to inspect those as well?
Thanks.
We already have this in progress for Plex for Android
Thanks for the confirmation. Will update here when the bundled app goes to 4.75 or later
