Ever since updating I can no longer see any of my devices to cast to. Effects both my Pixel and Chromebook. I have to use the web app which sees everything without issue.
May 11th 2025 update: I am now able to see my devices by adding an exception for config.claspws.tv in my Adguard. Though when I stream I don’t have full audio (no voices). Works perfectly fine when streaming from web app.

Same, even after allowing config.claspws.tv through my dns blocker.
Plenty of other threads about this that are seemingly going unaddressed by the Plex team.

Just got the update. I can no longer cast from my Pixel 9 Pro Fold to my 2018 Vizio tv with cast integrated. It will put the Plex logo on the screen and that’s it. When I go to play the video, nothing happens.
I also realized there’s no cast icon once you start to play the video like the old app. Now you have to cast before you start the video only.
Ugh. Is there a way to revert back? My tv integrated Plex app sucks because it’s so slow. That’s why I cast.
So I had to add the exception to BOTH my Pihole and my Unifi Firewall. Then it worked!
I started this thread about the issue, but could not get it working.
I changed the DNS server on my Plex to 8.8.8.8 to bypass any sort of PiHole blocking, but it still won’t work. I added the exception to my PiHole just in case, but still doesn’t work even when bypassed.
Was there anything else you did to make it work?

same issue here, whitelisted the domain in both pihole and unifi but casting has been broken for weeks. I’m watching jellyfin install right now as casting is 99% of how I use plex
Responding to keep this thread alive. I also can’t cast from Android to Chromecast. When the hell will this be fixed?
Can confirm. With the new app, when I tap the button nothing happens. On iPad & iPhone.

Could you provide some more information on how you were able to? I added the exception to my Unifi firewall, but I dont run Pihole. What app version do you have and what exceptions did you add?
You appear to be the only one who has gotten it working.
I confirm that casting from Android does not work on the new app. Please fix Plex. I am a Plex Pass owner.
All but 2 of the people in this thread are Plex Pass holders 
In Unifi I went to insights and found config.claspws.tv being blocked, so I clicked to allow it. After I did this and added it to my Pihole I am able to cast just fine. I found it was being blocked from my phone as a device not my chromecast. I hope this helps!

Casting also does not work for me after the new Android app update.
The downloading of “Next X unwatched episodes” also does not work.

joining the conversation to share i also can no longer cast from the latest app. Both chromecast AND the running plex app are not showing up as a player.
allowing config.claspws.tv in the pihole does do something, to allow chromecast devices to show up (but can’t cast anything), but targeting the running plex app on the tv directly is much better for smoothness and experience.
