Nice update Plex… casting from my IPad is even worse now. I have to leave the iPad open for about 3 minutes before I can shut it off or it just keeps shutting down.

I honestly think this may be an issue with chromecast and not plex. I have this same issue when casting Spotify to my Vizio. Plays a few songs and then stops.
Interesting. Started a stream from PC, played fine. Soon after I connected my phone to the existing stream to briefly pause, it disconnected and prompted me to resume the stream on my PC. The common denominator seems to be iOS Plex and Chromecast.
Found a fix that worked for me setting account and turn off automatic signing and finger print and it worked for me iPhone se 2020 I only found it out because I don’t have it on my account hope it works for you

Plex starting ignoring their user base when they don’t have good news.
Plex definitely is NOT concerned about this issue… wouldn’t want to fix an ongoing issue.
I started using infuse and things work perfectly. Links directly to Plex as well as the watched status etc it handles playback so much better and has playback speed
Wow yeah Infuse looks like a good Plex client.
I’ve used infuse for a while now… It definitely works ok… but I really like the Plex setup. It’s just to bad that Plex can’t be bothered to do anything to fix this issue.
Seriously don’t know why I bothered to pay for Plex because they don’t bother fixing anything. Is there any way to get in touch with them?
We had one of their employees assisting us at the start… then they disappeared lol… I even tried sending this directly to them, and nothing… they could care less
This problem still occurs and seems to only involve iOS, Plex app and Chromecast.
If I watch a stream on nVidia Shield tv or on pc, there is no problem.
If I stream from any other app on my iPhone to the Chromecast there is no problem.
I have a Plex pass server running the latest FreeNAS version 1.22.1.4228, iOS 14.4.2, Plex app 7.15, Google Chromecast Model NC2-6A5 with firmware 1.49.230269.

It’s definitely a Plex/Chromecast/Apple issue. I can stream all day with my fire stick and Plex with no issues…
i just switched from Chromcast v2 → Chromcast with Google TV and problem “solved”. Anyway v2 stayed home, would like to see fixed soon.
I’ve just direct messaged BigWheel, the Plex employee that assisted with this thread some months back. Let’s see if we can get some help.
I have this same issue also casting from iOS to my nvidia shield.
Exact same piece of media it’ll cut out at the same point unless I close the app immediately after casting. I’ve not tried leaving the phone to go into standby yet
Same issue for months now! People on reddit also seem to have had the same issue, no reply from Plex.
I messaged him back in November… never even bothered to reply…
