I’ve tried for hours over two days and I can’t get multiple albums to show up, one just shows one as if there is only one. The other shows up as two separate cds. I’ve tried selecting last FM rescanning 20 time no luck.
Any help please
Thank you

If you’re talking about a two CD Set - let’s take the trusty Pink Floyd - The Wall:
A Music Library/
…Pink Floyd/
…Pink Floyd - The Wall
…Disc 1/
… tracks
…Disc 2/
… tracks
What is what it MUST look like in MP3Tag (if you expect it to work the first time without a lot of futzing around):
Disc 1 (pay particular attention to the Discnumber Field - 1/2):
Disc 2(pay particular attention to the Discnumber Field - 2/2):
The Result (too big for one grab, but you get the idea):
If that’s not what you’re talking about, take a handful of valium and do try to explain yourself.
Also my Dad always said:
If at first you don’ succeed - follow the instructions.
Sage advice:

And… this will make your life a LOT easier: http://www.mp3tag.de/
Last, but not least: If you actually go to http://www.last.fm/ and look up what you’re working with the correct name could help, but this should illustrate in no uncertain terms you can put ANYTHING into a Plex Music Library if those tags are right (even if it doesn’t exist):

I have them in that format except I have them cd 1 and cd 2
I’ve read several plex faqs on the issue and tried to follow them to the T
There are a couple of methods described in that Music faq area. Above is the method I use and doing so turned the bomb crater that was my music library into a thing of beauty. Easily added to, easily maintained. No ‘Various Artists’ (about all I had to begin with).
Without embedded metadata you are relying TOTALLY on last.fm. If it doesn’t exist over there you’re going nowhere at Warp 9. With MP3Tag and correctly placed metadata you can create Justin Beiber’s: ‘I Suck, Really Badly’ in a heartbeat.
Examples above should lead the way to happiness.
Won’t it read the the artist, disc name, track name and folder name etc like everything else?
How do you get rid of various artist?
I haven’t even begun my collection this is just a small batch of albums and songs
I haven’t began to rip the 600 cds I have or the 1,000’s of single etc.
If I can’t get 30 cds to go correctly not worth doing the rest.
Look with your eyeballs at the MP3Tag images I posted above. Read the tags.
Look with your eyeballs and MP3Tab at your own tags. Change the tags.
The key pieces of hardware here are your eyeballs. The next key piece of software is MP3Tag.
Once you calm down enough to be able to absorb instructions you will find this is easy, kindergarden stuff you just have to be willing to let it sink in.
Plex relies on two methods for Music listing:
Again. Above are perfect working examples of what must be done - and there’s even a comedy break if you want to play around with The Beeber.
I seen your pics that’s why I stated I used cd 1 and cd 2 not disc 1 and disc 2…
In addition to getting all your embedded tags in shape, you also need to configure Plex to use them in preference to Last.FM or Gracenote. The online services are just terrible in my opinion, for all the garbage they have.
I had numerous problems like the one you mentioned until I got my embedded tags in shape and got Plex configured to use them.
Do you recommend that software mentioned or another.
What should I rip my cd’s with?
What is the best format for soundtracks’ so they don’t do VA or make single song albums’
Thank guys for the help
I’m Linux-based, so the utilities I use are probably different than what you’ll use. For editing tags, I understand MP3Tag is very good and easy to use. It’s very similar to Puddletag, which I use on Linux.
Back when I was on Windows, I used Audiograbber to rip CDs, but I understand it has not been updated in a while.
We’re non PPers. We have Last.fm. There endeth the lesson.
There is also no indication in any of the documentation I can find what the proper call is for a multi CD set. I do see reference to the ‘Robust’ editing feature that is ‘Robust’ to the point that it’ll make you want to Robust the whole get-up right out the window.
I have beaten this path down to bare earth already and I have found Disc 1, Disc 2, etc to be the call that works. I have found my file structure works. I have found items MUST have an Artist Name and an Album name in the metadata. I have found the Discnumber Field MUST be 1/2, 2/2, etc. I have found MP3Tag makes it easy to put them in there. I have provided examples and screenshots.
I do a lot of Autocad work and when I run into something I’m not familiar with my employer, if there’s time, feels it’s sometimes best if - I find my own way. I have provided 1000% more info than I get most of the time and that should make it pretty dam easy.
The BEST thing about working in a Music Library is when you’re running trial and error procedures a simple Refresh works and you don’t have to Plex Dance every dam thing you do. If Plex could figure out why that works in Music and nowhere else we’d have something.
I appreciate the info it was very helpful the plex stuff was more confusing especially the robust part I felt I was missing that.
I heard about some monkey software etc… I also have Roxio NXT
Thanks for all the info
Just slow down, take a break, come back to it later. The info is there. You’ll get it and once that light comes on it’s gonna burn bright and you’ll be adding Music and actually enjoying it - in due time.
Using other things to try to make this easier will ultimately just make it harder. You need some music, MP3Tag and some skills with metadata. In due time.

And you/we/anybody does NOT need Local Media Assets in the top slot. Enabled, but in last place works fine over here at my house - providing I have correctly placed tags in a proper folder structure. If it’s at last.fm - found. If not, tags take over.

Well, where do you expect for this soundtrack album to appear?
Use whatever you like for AlbumArtist, but make sure all tracks of that album are tagged with the same AlbumArtist and AlbumTitle tags.
If you do like @JuiceWSA recommended you above, Plex will only use embedded metadata and/or folder and file names to structure your music.

I have ‘use embedded’ enabled in the music libraries. I have my only option, last.fm, in the top slot, LMA second. If what I’m trying to match exists at last.fm Plex grabs the cover and info, if what I’m after doesn’t exist over there Plex uses the local tags and I (having been there already I know that and) stick a local cover in the file with MP3Tag or name it cover.jpg, or front.jpg and drop it in the appropriate folder.
It’s fairly painless.
@Hurlamania you obviously haven’t had severe depression or you wouldn’t use a heading like that and you didn’t even bother making the title match your problem. The title is deeply offensive to many who suffer real depression and suicidal thoughts. Please use the word in context and in appropriate situations!
I do have severe depressive disorder and have had it for a very long time. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions, the title was very accurate at that time.
Anyway, I fixed a few things with the program but I still have 2 album’s at this point that put one song as a separate album with the same cover, I’ve spent hours messing with that everything matched on both… Puzzling
