Logs 2.zip (177.7 KB)
I have verified the NAS with the Public NTP Server. It showed Status: Normal.
I pointed Safari at http://192.168.1.40:32400/identity & verified that "claimed=“1” ".
I pointed Safari at http://192.168.1.40:32400/web & I could login. I clicked on the “Settings” & I could see my server. I selected General & saw “Server claimed by [redacted].”
Thanks for the update & log files. That is good news that the server is claimed and you can reach server settings..
I’m not sure why Plex is not seeing your TV shows. Permissions are set, server is claimed, and there are no signs of database corruption. Those are the usual suspects.
Deleting, then re-creating the current library sometimes fixes such problems. However, you would lose any custom artwork, descriptions, etc. and PMS would also have to re-generate thumbnails, intro/credit markers, etc.
Before resorting to deleting/re-creating the library, three quick questions:
First, what is the size of the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file? It should be megabytes, not gigabytes. Need to make sure your system was not affected by the “database bloat” bug. See screenshot below using Synology File Station.
Second, which folder is added to your TV show library? It should be /volume1/Media/TV Shows.
Third, in the TV show episode file names, are you using the sXXeYY format to denote the season and episode numbers? The log files show folder names, but not episode file names.
I am not concerned about losing any data because I have not created any custom artwork. I assume any movies will still be available.
The size of the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file is 11.7 MB.
The directory is /volume1/Media/TV Shows.
I am not using sXXeYY designation. I tried that in the Cheers directory but it didn’t make any difference.
Per Plex docs, “The most important bit in the file name is the appropriate season and episode number notation s02e17, which in this example means Season 2 Episode 17 It does not matter if you use dashes, dots, or just spaces.”
You need to follow Plex naming and organization requirements. Otherwise, Plex may not correctly recognize your media files.
After renaming/reorganizing the entire show, Plex Dance the show. That removes any incorrect information from the Plex database.
Example
/volume1/Media/TV Shows <-- folder added to tv show library
/Cheers (1982) <-- show name (intro year)
/Season 01 <-- "Season" in English, two digits for number
/Cheers (1982) s01e01 Give Me a Ring Sometime.mkv <-- sXXeYY notation
/Season 02
/Cheers (1982) s02e01 Power Play.mkv <-- episode name optional
Here’s a shortlist of tools that can help with renaming. The free version of Tiny Media Manager works for most people.
PowerRenamer in Microsoft Power Tools is helpful for simple renaming with pattern matches or regular expressions. It makes quick work of tasks such as adding a year to file names, removing undesirable text from multiple files, etc
I would like to re-create the library. There isn’t a way to get my
TV Shows to be recognized. Is there a way to do it or just delete the PMS & start over?
Fourth, create the new tv show library (Settings → Libraries → Add Library). Add /volume1/Media/TV Shows to the library. Do not add the individual show folders. See Creating Libraries.
