Does this seem improved for anyone else? I had an update that re-enabled direct play and it seems a lot better. Still occasional buffering but nowhere near as bad
Iāll have to check but Sunday I tested with a video that guarantees to buffer at 19-20 mins in and it still did it.
Iāll know itās fixed when I can get past 20 mins on this video
@swanlee Agreed. Iām seeing buffering starting to happen A LOT more than previously. The media could be a TV show, a movie, anything - but itās random. The only constant I see is that it starts doing the buffer dance at 6mins50secs in. Every. Freaking. Time.
If I switch from XB1 to LG Appā¦works perfect. Even looks better.
The easy thing to do would be to just use the internal TV app butā¦I just want to use my XB1. I was able to teach my wife how to use it and she might murder me if I switch it up.
I appreciate the work that Plex is doing (And MS for the regular updates) but man I wish there was more communication and a sticky thread for this because it definitely isnāt a one-off issue. This is happening a lot.
So any update from @moussa? I posted on the Xbox Insider reddit and some admins posted back they would look at it but so far nothing from nobody
I also am still seeing this problem only happens on the Xbox one doesnāt happen on my Roku. This is so ridiculous that this has not been fixed!

Multiple releases later, still not fixed.
It works on Chrome, Roku, LG TV, EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE APP BUT XBOX! Why? Why can no one explain exactly what the issue is and why it cannot be fixed??

How is this not fixed by now? I canāt watch almost any movies now because after 4 minutes of play it just sits there buffering and the bandwidth drops to zero. This makes the Xbox app useless! Why are we paying for a complete lack of support from Plex. This has been going on for over a year!

Every 5-6 min when it happens, and it happens often. Iāve been Plex Pass for years, but this is crazy. Plex has had its issues in the past but seriously going on a couple months solid here.

I got so annoyed at the constant buffering when watching a 20 minute show that I went out and bought a Roku streaming stick plusā¦So far so good. Come on Plex, fix this issue on xbox.
Aaaaaaargh! For the love of god why are we back here AGAIN! So direct play was a no go but at least I could get everything working with the direct stream. Now absolutely NOTHING works. Just Buffering Buffering Buffering. Are we just kidding ourselves with this app is it EVER going to be stable? Horrendous. How can you ever rely on Friday night movies with this experience. Iād rather use VHS tape.

Itās comical at this point, @Moussa was able to reproduce the issue and give info to MS, I have pinged the Xbox insiders reddit and MS devs say they are looking at the thread. I and many other have filed many reports on our Xbox.
This should be a slam dunk fix, but yet silence and no ETA.
Can anyone on this planet on the Plex side just please let us know when the issue will be fixed?

Iāll do my weekly check of a video I know starts buffering at 20 mins in within the next day or so
1080p not fixed. I have a FireTV replacing Xbox One for now but it doesnāt have the option to disable direct stream. Older TV shows with smaller files freeze. So watch TV shows on Xbox One and movies on Fire TV. So annoying!
Iām having this problem as well. VERY frustrating for a paid service. It has been going on for the past few months now with no resolve.
