Copied files to NAS

I have setup a Asustor NAS and copied all my mkv files over to their folders. However when I scan with Plex, it doesn’t see any of my files. I do see them when I access the drive and look in the folder. The source and destination have the same files and count. Plex just isn’t seeing the files. Plex does see my music folder and pic folder I copied over. Not sure what to do atm. Thanks for you help!

Two things coming to mind:

  1. could be a permission thing (not sure however if/how this is handled on the Asustor NAS)
  2. there’s certain circumstances where Plex will ignore files – it’ll e.g. ignore files that have a tv-show naming pattern in a movie-type library. Plex will also ignore files in unsupported formats (such as disc images / ISOs…)
