Cosmos: Possible Worlds ep 3,4 no metadata

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527

Hi there, for a few days now plex is unable to get metadata on Cosmos: Possible Worlds S01E03 and E04 while E01 and E02 work fine.

When refreshing metadata the serverlog says this:

Mar 21, 2020 22:37:07.469 [0x7fef67fe7700] WARN - Match metadata: No item found for ID 50867, perhaps was merged with another item.
Mar 21, 2020 22:37:07.521 [0x7fefca7fc700] WARN - Match metadata: No item found for ID 50868, perhaps was merged with another item.

What i tried already is the plex dance and removing thetvdb agent cache.

Please Advise

Same for ep5 and ep6.

Sorry, wrong show:

https://thetvdb.com/series/cosmos-a-spacetime-odyssey/seasons/official/2
(notice the words “Official” - meaning ‘Officially’ how TVDB is gonna list it)

Cosmos (2014)/
......Season 02/
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E01.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E02.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E03.xxx
and so on...

Yes, it’s annoying, but there it is.

5 and 6 aren’t there yet.

Na, this is the correct one:

(notice the words “Official” - meaning ‘Officially’ how TVDB is gonna list it).

The Metadata is there on thetvdb and as you can see by the screenshot ep1 and ep2 have the correct metadata. Seems like a plex issue.

Welp, you can fight it, but there won’t be any metadata from that listing coming to Plex. At least for the time being - 'cause I had to change mine 2 episodes ago. <— and yes, new episodes are coming in, a day late, but that part IS a Plex Problem.

This:

Cosmos (2014)/
......Season 02/
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E01.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E02.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E03.xxx
and so on...

currently results in:

I get what you are saying, but that there is no new metadata incoming is a bug and should be addressed. As you can see in the screenshot the show matched perfectly, ep1 and 2 work and the show is updated on thetvdb. That seems to be a plex issue and should not need a workaround with incorrect matching.

The problem is the api can only draw from the show TVDB has greenlit - somehow that would make my head explode if I knew.

My ‘Possible Worlds’ Show quit updating, but Season 2 is.

You can wait, in the event something changes, or you can change and wait for the event of having to change back <—I do remember restructuring The New Pope - Twice - before it was all said and done, so you never know…

I prefer my metadata to be present and accounted for - I can change later if necessary. Me and Filebot have this down to a fine art.

I don’t know what you are talking about.
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/cosmos-possible-worlds/seasons/official/1
is updated.

Where can i check what is “greenlit” and what not?

Their forum would be where I would start.
If you get any juicy information Plex should be made aware of - by all means make them aware.

All me and my murky band of merry men can report is that 12 days ago Cosmos Possible Worlds stopped working and Cosmos (2014)/Season 02 started working:

I nowhere see a greenlit flag or similar, api just pulls from the same db as the website.
I checked their horrible forums, no decision has been made yet, just a few ppl talking with no mod/admin in sight.
ANYHOW the issue here is not if its a new show or a new season, thats for others to decide, the issue here is that plex fails to scrape metadata from thetvdb where metadata clearly exists.

Great…

You start screaming at Plex.

I’ll watch.

I was just posting a possible bug in the plex support forums.
No one is screaming.

I’m adding S02E05 right now and when I pulled it up in Filebot I got a choice:
Cosmos Possible Worlds - with no poster or metadata <–new in Filebot Version - whatever I have
or
Cosmos (2014) - with a poster and metadata <—didn’t like it - now I do. Yay, Filebot.
(via the api Filebot uses to contact TVDB to get a filename)

Guess which one I picked?

Filebot just told me which one TVDB is sending metadata for - I didn’t have to think about it very long.

I don’t think tvdb has decided or has flipped back and forth, originally possible worlds was season 2.

if you look at the tvdb forum linked above, it is still undecided.

in any case, plex will use whatever it is matched to, so if it doesn’t pull for you as you want then you need to fix match, like so.

I wonder if they know - or care - what happens out here in ‘the world’ when they can’t make up their minds?

@JuiceWSA You seem upset, I don’t understand why.

@TeknoJunky Thanks but it is matched to possible worlds, ep 1 and 2 pull fine, the others do not even though there is information on thetvdb website.

I can match it to the other show, sure and I had it before, just as you said, they flip flopped. The point is that it does not scrape information that is there and it should, thats why i posted in the plex support forum under the metadata section.

if you tried refresh metadata at the top series level ?

also, its working for me for ep 5 & 6

Refreshing did not provide Metadata either, but it’s very interesting to see that it works for you.
I’ll try to delete the show and restart the server when no one is using it and try to re add then. (did the readding it already, without server restart)

shouldn’t need restart, I’d unmatch > match again and see if that does it

Plex Dance might:

It’s interesting that TVDB has the ‘Seasons’ named for this now (looks like they’re diggin’ in):

I’ll bet the Fix Match pick goes right to Cosmos (2014).
Anyone tried the ID# yet?
