What i tried already is the plex dance and removing thetvdb agent cache.
Welp, you can fight it, but there wonât be any metadata from that listing coming to Plex. At least for the time being - 'cause I had to change mine 2 episodes ago. <â and yes, new episodes are coming in, a day late, but that part IS a Plex Problem.
This:
Cosmos (2014)/
......Season 02/
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E01.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E02.xxx
.........Cosmos (2014) - S02E03.xxx
and so on...
I get what you are saying, but that there is no new metadata incoming is a bug and should be addressed. As you can see in the screenshot the show matched perfectly, ep1 and 2 work and the show is updated on thetvdb. That seems to be a plex issue and should not need a workaround with incorrect matching.
The problem is the api can only draw from the show TVDB has greenlit - somehow that would make my head explode if I knew.
My âPossible Worldsâ Show quit updating, but Season 2 is.
You can wait, in the event something changes, or you can change and wait for the event of having to change back <âI do remember restructuring The New Pope - Twice - before it was all said and done, so you never knowâŚ
I prefer my metadata to be present and accounted for - I can change later if necessary. Me and Filebot have this down to a fine art.
Their forum would be where I would start.
If you get any juicy information Plex should be made aware of - by all means make them aware.
All me and my murky band of merry men can report is that 12 days ago Cosmos Possible Worlds stopped working and Cosmos (2014)/Season 02 started working:
I nowhere see a greenlit flag or similar, api just pulls from the same db as the website.
I checked their horrible forums, no decision has been made yet, just a few ppl talking with no mod/admin in sight.
ANYHOW the issue here is not if its a new show or a new season, thats for others to decide, the issue here is that plex fails to scrape metadata from thetvdb where metadata clearly exists.
Iâm adding S02E05 right now and when I pulled it up in Filebot I got a choice:
Cosmos Possible Worlds - with no poster or metadata <ânew in Filebot Version - whatever I have
or
Cosmos (2014) - with a poster and metadata <âdidnât like it - now I do. Yay, Filebot.
(via the api Filebot uses to contact TVDB to get a filename)
Guess which one I picked?
Filebot just told me which one TVDB is sending metadata for - I didnât have to think about it very long.
@JuiceWSA You seem upset, I donât understand why.
@TeknoJunky Thanks but it is matched to possible worlds, ep 1 and 2 pull fine, the others do not even though there is information on thetvdb website.
I can match it to the other show, sure and I had it before, just as you said, they flip flopped. The point is that it does not scrape information that is there and it should, thats why i posted in the plex support forum under the metadata section.
Refreshing did not provide Metadata either, but itâs very interesting to see that it works for you.
Iâll try to delete the show and restart the server when no one is using it and try to re add then. (did the readding it already, without server restart)
